@@lifeofsportspodcast6718 that’s very true but as good as he was at Duke he wasn’t as skilled as Paolo. He’s 6’10 250 and able to play on the block...elbow and perimeter. He has amazing footwork as well. He missed his first lay up where he drove right and spun back with the left. Then he drove left and spun back to the right a few plays later. He started getting doubled on the block for a reason. At 18 he has a skill set few pros have.

For example, Cook was more skilled than Zion with better handles, passing, and clearly a better shooter but Zion was much more dominant with his frame and athleticism (Parker was far more skilled too if comparing the position is important). Paolo has the ability to be dominant but also with a great range to his skillset. It's a bit semantic but I'm sure you catch my drift--Paolo gonna be special.

Wheeler was a handful for Duke. Thought UK played my Devils tough. Very good prep for Zags w some of those sets w the kicks to the wings and corners.

I don’t think when your starting PG is Roach that you’re going to get to the Final 4. He’s good but not Final 4 good. I think both of these teams are ranked exactly where they should be. Both good teams but not Final 4 bound.

Both teams are trash and aren’t getting anywhere near the final 4. The teams that make the final 4 are loaded up on experience and continuity. Not brand new rosters. New teams every year is a stupid tactic and it’s why Cal has fallen off a cliff, and it’s why K is retiring. It’s a lazy tactic, if you can even call it a tactic.

Dont overlook what Paolo did! With really bad cramping he got his points and rebounds...pushed the ball and showed insane skill and footwork for an 18 year old! Trevor had that Paul Pierce game...not explosive but he can get to his spots and use his body to be effective. Keels is actually a way better shooter than what he was able to show. Duke is a real team!

They were 4-1 vs FF teams in 2019 with the Zion/RJ team... they were 3-0 vs the final two teams and 2-0 vs the champs... to say they don't have a chance is about as casual as it gets. Let's not forget the 2016 team with Ingram, Jefferson was lost for the season after 9 games... 2017 with Tatum fell short being that their biggest recruit, Giles, was injured before he ever stepped on campus and never recovered. 2018 required a three by KU in the final seconds that sent them into a an OT loss keeping them out of the FF and we already mentioned the 2019 team. 2020 was cut short with covid. Yeah, no chance.

I have to say as a UK fan, it’s good to see that we’re not alone with our standards dropping massively in recent years. I’ve seen many better Duke teams in my lifetime. This Duke isn’t capable of getting to the Final 4. They are too poor defensively, and don’t have enough options on offense. This Duke team is legit just as talented as the 2017 Duke team that was a floater rimming out from a FF appearance 2. This is literally a good defensive team one would hope you would realize that being that they literally held one Cals best shooting teams he’s ever had to below 40% shooting and being they don’t have one “bad” defender on their team that’s just simply not true. Mark Williams is one of the best shot blockers in the country, Keels is also an elite defender. 4. Duke has three legitimately good options on offense in Paolo, Keels, Moore and a very good lob threat in Mark Williams. 5. But it’s fine bc we have more transfers now, they always got us to Final 4s in the past🙄 but now we have more of them so that equals better to some people. all I see is more chemistry issues. but Cal refuses to grow his own players. it’s laziness and incompetence.

Kentucky constantly get recruits every year so if a player stays an extra year their job isn’t secured for example skai labrissere had a rough freshman year and he was a top 3 recruit. He was forced to go to the draft because he would’ve been fighting for minutes if he stayed an extra year. Shai Alexander was a 3 star recruit and he grind his way to the starting pg position which led him into getting into the lottery. He wasn’t even supposed to make the nba draft and look what happen.
