In Nairobi, Kenyan protesters clashed with police, demanding President William Ruto's resignation over proposed tax hikes. The demonstrations, which began peacefully, turned chaotic as police opened fire outside Kenya’s parliament after teargas and water cannons failed to disperse the crowd. Flames were seen inside the building, and at least 10 people were killed according to paramedics, with a Reuters journalist counting at least five bodies. Protesters accuse Ruto of betraying his 2022 campaign promise to support the working poor
