I agree that the Kepler S is a better ship. While it does not have 'the kitchen sink like the R it just looks better and is easier to modify to your liking.

Exactly. I should have chosen the Kepler S, but I done the crappy move of choosing the Kepler R instead. :(

One of the few good things about Starfield is the ship building. But it's just a shame that building/upgrading a ship is so costly.

Yeah, the price of ship building is a bit high and painful right after you NG. And if it's the main thing you do, it will drain the bank very quickly. I get my ship money from doing the One Riot missions at the Rock and the Vae Victus missions in Subsection 7 of MAST (however that does require that you spared him during the UC quest line)
