Today I go over my experience owning and daily driving my Kerma tuned TDI Sportwagen. This car has been awesome but it is time to start giving it some tasteful mods and not have it look so stock. I have a few things i want to do from suspension, wheels, tires & some lighting mods. If you can find a good deal on one hop on it ASAP! Enjoy.

I had the tune and dsg tune on my 2015 Jetta TDI.. It was definitely worth the money. It was fun. LOL. I was dumb and traded it in on a Tesla which I sold back last June. I recently bought a 2014 Golf TDI DSG with 70k on the odometer, torque is addicting and I can’t wait to get the Golf tuned.

@DArias 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I did.. about 2 weeks before the clutch went out I started to experience a light shudder when taking off and the clutch felt kind of soft. Finally one morning I came out and the clutch was to the floor the slave gave out. The shudder was the slave leaking onto the clutch

I just bought almost the same car, mine is dsg. The dealership sold me a 2 year warranty, would the tune void it?
@DArias
@DArias 2 жыл бұрын
Essentially yes the tune would void the warranty. Also I always say this it depends on the dealer too. Some service managers and advisors are super cool and work with you while others aren’t. Luckily in my experience I did have a friend who worked at Vw so I got 2 repair services done under warranty while tuned which was the intake manifold and a new egr valve. Intake manifold after a few months was being buggy again so I ended up doing the diesel geek bracket over 2 years ago and to this day still no cel has come back

First! I love your vids and I own a 2012 vw jetta sportwagon tdi dsg in black and I want to do a stage 2 or 3 tune and power stop brake kit so bad just no luck finding a shop in town that won't gouge me on price since I don't have enough skill to diy

Thanks for the kind words! And nice man doing a nice tune and some brake mods is a great start. It’s unfortunate how some shops do take advantage of people who aren’t as inclined to turn some wrenches. Over 2 years and 24,000 miles with my MK6 tdi, 33mpg in city and 38 highway. DPF failure a month after purchase (VW replaced), crash sensor failure warning light (reset with vag scanner), 4 alignments (incompetent shop), and failed rear struts. Internet seems to be full of worried owners when it comes to these diesels. I'm curious if the kerma tune would help extend the life of the emissions system. Coming from a CRV the interior feels cramped, and there is like zero right knee room oddly (5'11"). I also don't find the seats to be that comfortable. Mines worth almost $4k more than what I paid for it, the used car market is nuts! Are you running any additives?

My slave cylinder failed at 35,000 miles in my 2015 MK7 Golf TDI. I am not happy about it. It cost a fortune to fix. That puts to question the reliability of the car in general.
@DArias
@DArias Жыл бұрын
Really? Seems a bit early. Unfortunately many vws use a plastic slave cylinder across all generations and it’s always been a weak part in the manual transmission cars. Overall though TDIs are known to do many hundreds of thousands of miles but I guess sometimes it’s hit or miss
@Cozzera
@Cozzera Жыл бұрын
@@DArias I have the Slave cylinder on my desk. It does not inspire confidence. The next problem is you can't purchase the clutch disk by itself, only with the pressure plate together, costs $600 additional. The dealer even charged me $33.00 for a quart of brake fluid, - must have been flown in from France. The engines may be OK, but if all the other parts break around the engine what is the point. Moreover, have you seen all the sensors that these engines have? Those are just waiting to break.
