I'm trying to find the interview Miss Piggy did on The Daily Show. She was stumbling her words at one point and Jon said and I'm paraphrasing: 'What's wrong? Got a little frog stuck in your throat?' She was speechless after that. 😂😂😂😂

Conflicting points of view, but overall it seems it was due to ongoing creative differences between Steve Whitmire and Muppet Studios producers. Steve wanted the Muppets to be more wholesome and less adult oriented. Meanwhile Muppet studios wanted to make them edgier and more risqué.

Jim Henson was the voice of Kermit, he died in 1990.

I don't care who voices Kermit, Jim, Steve and now Matt they all have done wonderful jobs at doing Kermit Most of us grew up with Steve Whitmire doing Kermit, I think Matt Vogel is doing well !

Steve Whitmire got fucked over by Disney, his replacement is Matt Vogel who's juggling so many Muppets at the moment including Big Bird

Disney was trying to do what they wanted with The Muppets, Steve Whitmire (Kermit from Jim Henson's death in 1990-2016) thought it's not what Jim Henson would want from the characters, specifically Kermit, so they fired him and now Matt Vogel performs Kermit.

Steve Whitmire was fired for standing up to Disney, when they tried to change Kermit's character from how Jim Henson would have wanted it, so they fired him. Now Matt Vogel performs him.

Same, but to be fair, Matt Vogel is probably closer to Jim Henson's Kermit voice. Steve Whitmire's is very close to his own voice, although personally I like that more, plus he's a lot wittier in interviews than Matt Vogel, although he was good as Constantine, I don't think he's as good at improvising as Kermit.
