I don't think This Is Me was her song tbh, it's not one that has a rap feel to it. I have an ear for tempo and style since I'm a musician, Missy Elliot's style clashed with the song.

And also if I noticed anything that disappointed me about their version is that all they did was combine the vocals from this one and Keala's version adding Missy Elliot's rap part. They didn't actually record it together, it was pretty much just their vocal samples combined into one song.

I wanted to keep my comment short, but just like to add something else. I'm a writer, and I was stuck on a story when I found this. I was trying to make an elevator pitch, putting your story into a sentence. It was a story based off something that happened to me, that changed me, and when I wrote. "You're still there." That was it. Everything in the story and that experience, I finally put into words. Thank you, Lord, for Kesha and Kesha, thank you for being to stubborn and strong to be taken down. Thank you so much. I'm taking that story, and I'm making it for you, me, and anyone else who need to here it. I won't let you down. Incase your curious. "You're still there, no matter how much you lose." I'll speak to that, you, that's still there through my stories. I'll help those who feel lost. Her emotion and story both influenced the way she covered this. Most of them being the fact that she got body shamed to the point where she started to starve herself and eventually ended up in a rehab facility due to how bad it was getting. We have Lukasz Gottwald to thank for that, what a major a**hole. But she's gotten better since back then and is ready to sing her voice away. I'm so proud of her and how far along she's come. Let's take a standind ovation for the new and improved Kesha ❤❤❤

@@BabsChannel if I remember correctly (which is unlikely, my memory is fuckin shite) I think her producer assaulted her and when she tried to break her contract he refused and the company itself refused as well. It was an ugly battle in court but she's away from him now.
