Baldurs Gate 3 is a game, where you can enjoy the story and characters, the voice acting of which is beyond praise. I really liked the whole location dedicated to Ketheric and how with every new corner I explored I found new details about this character.

@@thenecromancer8805 Sure they do, characters live or die, hundreds if not thousands of lines of dialogs and animations change etc. Expecting the game to completely change directions based on choices made is unreasonable but you can influence lots of things. Yes, the choices dont change many of the major outcomes but there are so many small changes to locations and characters. I feel what you did and didnt do over the game mostly shows its consequences in act 3.

I about pissed myself im still on my first playthrough.and just fought him w no spoliers or anything....it was the most badass shit ever... I cant imgaine harley quinn and greasy sauske being more badass them him....who tf is more badass than omniman for a final villian??? Idk i just feel like he should of been the end game as cool as it was but i havnt finished the game yet.... Lmfao i romanced gale so he didnt have to suicide bomb lol

The necromancers in this game give me chills. They talk about raising your corpse like a typical thing that they're happy to do, and it's delivered so cleanly each time it always catches me off-guard.

This masterpiece of a tribute serves to highlight the criminally small amount of screen time granted to Ketheric Thorm in BG3. I was left wanting for more of him long after his part concluded, and it’s incredible how you made such an enthralling video despite the small amount of content he has. Amazing work, as always!!

Actually i would have preferred if there was just ONE villain. Ketheric Thorm. You would meet him first at the Moonrise Towers but cant kill him until the end of the game in the ultimate BOSS BATTLE. One villain with more screentime is way better than 3 with short screentime. You can give him way more time to build up his story. And as a player you can truly hate (or love) him.

Ketheric honestly was the best villain altogether. He had the best area, the scariest aesthetic, his buildup was better than the others, his boss fight was by far the best and most challenging (but surpisingly never felt cheap). He deserved to be the final boss.

I’d love to say I think it was deliberate that the other two were underwhelming by comparison. But it works regardless. He’s a general, he’s got history, he’s been there, seen everything and he’s wise and strong because of it. Gortash is younger and arrogant so makes mistakes. Orin is bloodthirsty and blind to weakness as a result. This makes Ketheric the most dangerous of all of them.

After playing both games for hundreds of hours I seriously think this game is overestimated. There's so much of this game that feels unfinished, lazy, or difficult to play. Starfield feels more polished and defined. Both games have there ups and downs but it's always after the story which one brings you back. This game has an ending. A finality. While Starfield is more open.

Ketheric is a tragic hero, relatable, he is like Arthas but his whole theme is losing his wife and daughter and turning to the worst gods to bring them back. I'm unsure why Isobel managed to return but not his wife? But Isobel is proof that Ketheric would still be an evil man, but maybe he would off himself once he realised that he is cancer to the two people he loves. He cared for Isobel but he never did anything good for her. Gortash is just a charismatic motherfucker, if he would just apologize to Karlach and actually came up with a good reason why he betrayed her i would never kill him if i could tbh. Orin is just insane and i guess fitting because she represents insane god and the worst of them three. So i say Ketheric and Gortash have redeeming values or at least are worth keeping around if you had the choice to, because they are cool. Orin look cool but she is batshit insane and would betray you and no amount of goodness she would ever appreciate. Ketheric could be beaten into sense, just take away all his powers and make that man return to his family(Isobel at this point I guess, unless his wife can be brought back too). Gortash is just typical rich guy, he is quite smart and does a lot of good when it benefits him. He isn't totally evil and imo you can easily control him. He doesn't try his luck to betray his equals or betters, so as long as you feed his ego and power he would play the role you give him which is honestly refreshing to see a villain that has some sense of dignity and rules i guess.

Ketheric Thorm made a great villain, largely due to J.K. Simmons voice acting. However, Dame Aylin was the one I was terrified of. That century of torture, being killed over and over and drained of her immortality, no human could come out of that sane. Even though she's a Demigod, she's cracked, barely holding it together. I know a lot of people didn't like her because of her actions, but honestly I thought she was acting pretty reasonable for someone who was repeatedly killed for 100 years. Ketheric had a goal, and he was willing to go to great lengths to accomplish that goal, but he was still a reasonable man, as shown by the final showdown. Dame Aylin felt like she could snap at any moment, the craziness was right there, boiling under the surface, unable to be reasoned with and unable to control herself. I don't know, I may be remembering wrong. All I know is that I wanted to spare Ketheric, but I wanted to get as far away from Aylin as possible.

Ketheric is one of those characters that becomes more interesting each playthrough, First I saved aylin, second I kill her, third I allow balthazar to transport her, different results each time. Fantastic dialogue.

I love aesthetic of the Shadowlands so much. I'm an absolute sucker for dark magic post-apocalytic wastelands. Really gives you thr sense that you're traversing a dead world

Kethric Thorm is the villain that had me in shambles when it was over. I genuinely wish I could’ve talked more to my companions with my conflicted thoughts on wanting to save him. Even though I had 10 allies in my camp, I had never felt so alone in my experience playing BG3.

Ketheric felt the most real of the three to me. Orin just wanted murder for the sake of murder, death for deaths sake. Gortash wanted control because he's a sociopathic power hungry tyrant. but ketheric did almost everything he ever did for love. or for honor. or to uphold a vow. He mostly acts in service to others not himself, a quality of a good leader. it shows how far he has fallen from who he once was.

I don't think it's the same as falling from grace, but just being born into a crappy situation and letting it shape you is different from leaving a full good life and falling to evil near the end.

(spoilers btw) all of the chosen were dealt crappy hands, Orins own mother tried to kill her, which probably really fucked her up as a child, Gortash was sold to Rafael and was powerless for his defining years of his life, and Ketheric lost his wife and daughter. Ketheric is my favorite of the tree, just for how fleshed out he is. The entire act/area is devoted basically to him

Ketheric is how you do a good villain. Gortash is just some sad joke, you dont respect him (as a person, still good written tyrant). And Orin is doing like Kylo Ren being a whiny fangirl of her grandpa( stil beautyfully written character, not like kylo ren) , but ketheric is someone you respect, someone you fear, that sends shivers down your spine in every cutscene you see him in. He truly didnt get the screentime he deserved.

Because Ketheric has a real human purpose that we can get behind he just wants his daughter back and in exchange he would grant his master anything something many fathers would do, Gortash just wants power which is a pretty bland reason but you know hes still fucking cool and orin just wants to kill everything because shes crazy. I think ketheric's humanity is what makes him the best of the chosen

That "try again" makes my my breath hitch every time. They really knew how to make an impact on the player, the lead up to the "invincible Ketheric Thorm" in every story beat pays off so beautifully when you finally meet him. Obviously, there's characters described as fearful that we knock down pretty easily, but the impact of SHOWING us his invincibility before it's broken really hits well.

I absolutely clattered him 😂 and was doing it on tactician and completely dismantled the cultist before we even got to him - piece by piece (took out his hound, Balthazar before even met them 😂). It was epic. I still tried to give him redemption. I crippled them so bad that was only like 4 cultist left defending at the front of Moonrise when you charged in . It does feel like he should have been the final boss especially with Myrkel surprise turn up for me. Simmons was epic! Great epic tribute

I would also like one about Raphael. Better than Gortash/Orin together. Or at least one of Minthara or Viconia DeVir. Maybe Shadowheart has also some potential with her two story arch possibilities -- either become a will-less puppet of Shar or defy her goddess and change completely. Together with her past that gives some tragic narrative.

You might've included the bits where you talk him down somewhat and he admits he's fucked up and reflects on his wife Melodia a bit. It's not a big deal but adds some more flavor to him, humanizes him a bit more in a way Orin and Gortash just can't.

Would you hate a man truly for doing all in sake of his daughter? Such a man with such great motivation and drive that he destroys himself for only to see his daughters happiness? No, he is a man, at the end of the day, who had strayed from man kind and was turned blind to his own actions in the name of said daughter, one who fights him even now, knowing that he has been lost to the same being he gave all for just so she may come back, come back to him..... Him siding with Myrkul is something that can be understood, but we should not forget what he has done under Shar. Instead of grieving properly, he did countless crimes to forget Isobel. But Shar isn't the kind of godess to give you what you want. Who in their good mind imprisons their daughter in law and condemns them to a fate where they are killed over and over? No, he went too far. Beyond too far. The only redeemable quality he has is that he essentially sold his soul to bring his daughter back, and even that was a selfish choice.
