Get the Highest Quality Electrolyte euvexia.com . Keto Diet vs Paleo Diet (Which Diet is Healthiest & Best For Weight Loss?) Debating on which diet to go on: Paleolithic (Paleo) or the keto diet? Here we break down the differences in foods and reasons to be on one or the other. Both diets focus on high-quality, nutrient-rich foods and eliminate grains, dairy and legumes, but which diet is best for your health, blood sugar issues, insulin resistance, and or weight loss?
The Paleolithic diet is eating similar to our ancestors by eating things that can be hunted or gathered. Keto is when your body burns fat as a way of energy, a state of ketosis where the body produces ketones. Both keto and paleo focus on whole foods, avoid grains, avoid dairy, and avoid legumes.

"Humans do extremely well missing a few meals, but we have no defense against 6 meals a day". How much clearer could that message be? There must be the 'light bulb' effect happening for so many who watch this video. You've really topped yourself with this video. Thank you again for another excellent teaching video.

This topic explain why I'm not doing good in keto diet, giving me heartburn and gain weight. The tropical food works on me better, I can breathe better when I'm in vegetable, fish and fruits diet. I was raised in Pacific Island and this is my ancestor eat and I grew up with this food. Thank you Dr. Eckberg.

As a Dr of Psychology and researcher, father of 3 healthy lads and now working in a primary school, I just knew in my own DNA that current supermarket foods and diet was detrimental to our health. The kids at my school were the only evidence i needed by just looking around and being in this environment, seeing what they eat at snack and mealtimes, observing their athletic ability, their shape etc. Im 56 (but havnt lost my competitve spirit yet!!) and I can give anyone of our pupils a race/game/sport/exercise of their choice and id beat them. That cant be right. I started to look at why this could be about a year ago, did some internet research and came upon I.F , the Keto diet, I.R etc and boy does it all make sense. Id already formulated my own ideas that we have simply not evolved in our own dna/primitive brain/adrenals etc quite as fast as our frontal cortex development has been able to come up with the idea of modern processed foods/cultivation of crops/supermarkets, 24/7 shops etc. So to see you putting so clearly and succinctly what I also had begun to think was happening, has been a revelation. Please Keep up the brilliant work you do in helping educate people away from the damage being caused from commercially driven companies caring only for profit, and i'll do my own micro bit in my school and environment and encourage others to discover your channel.

Prime point: 👍 is that KETO is a ‘physiological principle’. The confusion of KETO as a “diet” for weight loss only - is mucking up this Principle. KETO for Nutrition KETO for Optimal Health. Weight loss is that Blessing not in disguise. The fact that “most” lose weight should turn on the Lights. Great Content - as always - but this video raises even your bar.👍

Dr. Sten Ekberg Yes I agree about sharing. Have a difficult time with how to do that, without stepping on toes or seeming to throw stones. Unsolicited advice and all. I have several friends I’d love to toss videos at but.... treading lightly is often best. My little light shining - is getting noticed - if they inquire I speak out. This video is in my arsenal of look ats. Keep em coming.

I will, and have shared you vids. All of your vids are on point and well presented. In 2014, at age 56 I needed a pacemaker/defib and then a quintuple bypass. This after eating “healthy” all my life, (the low fat high carb crap that has been touted as healthy), I exercised religiously and I have no family history of heart disease. I almost died. Three years ago I started high fat/low carb, put the statins in the garbage, AND HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. It’s drs like you on KZfaq, that truly care about people’s health that saved my life. Unless you are in need of some hard medical intervention, conventional drs don’t know how to cure people, just push pills onto them. A BIG THANK YOU!!!! 👍👍👍 from Canada 🇨🇦

I've been doing keto and IF (20/4) for around 4 months now, have lost 35lbs in that time. But as time goes on, I feel weaker and weaker and I'm losing my hair 😔 (I'm a 35yo otherwise healthy female) I've been doing a little research today and apparently fasting like that isnt good for women? Also being in permanent keto like that isnt good either (for women) so I've decided to try and tweak it a little, changing my eating window from 4 hours to 7 and introducing more fruit into my diet, not much, every other day I think. So looks like I'll be alternating between keto and paleo! I don't eat dairy often anyway as it makes my skin bad so that wont be an issue, and I have no interest in other carbs now apart from fruit (i had an orange today and it was 🤤😁) I think this will be a better option for me in the long run. I was enjoying the keto and the IF plan as a whole but I was starting to feel unwell on it so I'll give this a try and see if I perk up, and stop shedding hair! 😱

I have a little brown rice sometimes. However when I make it I had coconut oil and then refrigerate it and reheat the next day. Based on research this alters the starch content of the rice lowering the carbs. Apparently this is also true for bread. Freeze the bread then reheat it.

I was born in Brazil, in the Amazon. Fruits year round. I’m about to give up on keto. Brain fog comes every day, I feel grasping for air, I feel somewhat week and low energy. Keto-flu for too long. I’ve lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks though, but I’ve achieved better results in the past by just cutting processed food, doing IF and exercising everyday. Didn’t have any brain fog, no grasping for air, felt great, strong and the healthiest I’d ever felt. After watching this video, I’m ready to quit keto, but I’ll stick to IF and only natural, organic foods. Thanks for this video!

I feel the same. Wasn't doing keto for weight loss but for my anxiety, which it pretty much got rid of for me! But the last week or so I am feeling too tired, too low energy and my brain is not working as quickly. I think paleo sounds like the best option for me. Except I will not get rid of dairy (irish, so it's a lifelong ingrained part of my diet and culture). I will stick to being free of processed crap , but I really think i need to change things up now.

Thank you that was helpfull. I find that strict keto is fine for a while But between food fatigue and my body stopped tolerating most fats. Except some oils. Olive oil and avocado work great. But I grew up with farm fresh vegetables and fruit. And some herbs. So I am adding more of those foods. Still leaving out most grains. And very little dairy. In Canada we can’t buy good dairy unless we own a cow.

Testimony: I did my own form of Paleo + Mediterranean diet and it really worked great. I screwed it later with the obvious retrocess, and now I'm committed to a mild sort of Keto, with some bigger part of protein. Basically, I'm trying to follow the philosophy of low carb with variations. All that the good "holistic" doctor believes apply. Let's see how it goes - so far lost 3 Kg. in 3 days, a good start.

I was following Paleo until i started following Dr Berg and his form of Keto. Now im combining the Paleo of removing those foods that cause inflammation because of the toxins found in plants to bugs and fungi. Dr Berg has touched on the as well. Cheese is the exception in my dietThis plan work.

Great talk, but I think grains & legumes were a small part of pre-agricultural human diet, stones used to process into mush.

I am a scientist myself (both a physicist and a chemist). A major flaw in the paleo diet concept to me is the idea that the food available in Paleolithic times tells us what the true limits were on foods that our ancestors were able to digest and utilize properly. The DNA can encode enzymes for many other foods they simply hadn't encountered yet. The body is also capable of revving up production of certain enzymes as they are needed. Sometimes people benefit from exogeneous enzymes (from supplements, i.e., from outside the body) temporarily until their own production increases sufficiently. Others might lack an enzyme permanently but may be able to supplement. Production of enzymes goes down for foods that we rarely eat or haven't eaten in many years. If we start eating such foods again, typically the enzyme production can recover. The body is a dynamic and responsive system. We don't have such detailed knowledge of remote ancestors or their descendants or about DNA itself to be so certain about our optimum diet based on what our remote ancestors ate (especially since many of us are from very mixed gene pools). We can discover the sequences in the DNA molecule now very quickly, but the knowledge of how this relates specifically to disease and enzymes and diet in general is very much slowly progressing. We also are not identical to our ancestors, even without gene pool mixing. One big difference is our gut microbeasties, who are very much involved in digestion. Variations in those can be good or bad but they certainly respond to changes in food available. It's difficult or impossible to make comparisons between then and now. Our food supply is not identical to that for those remote ancestors. Any animals eaten have changed. So have plants. People can have trouble with any food. Eggs are on the paleo list, but I could be arrested for driving under the influence of a single egg. Likewise, people can have no trouble with any food even if their neighbor can't tolerate it. An empirical approach is best. If you have problems that might be associated with what you eat - experiment. Eliminate certain foods and see how you feel. Then start reintroducing the eliminated foods one by one and see how you feel. You may not need to avoid all the suspects, but reducing portions or frequency of some might work for you. The keto approach is more obviously empirical to me than the paleo approach. People can eat however they want, but obviously people aren't really eating like their Paleolithic ancestors even on the paleo diet. And there is no guarantee that our remote ancestors were all that healthy. Their life spans were shorter than ours and we see from preserved bodies that they certainly were prone to diseases that crippled and killed them. Mother Nature cares about averages, not individuals. Some of our behaviors (including what we eat) can be anti-survival but we will survive as long as they are balanced by enough pro-survival behaviors. So just because our ancestors did something a certain way (such as eating) is certainly no guarantee that it even promotes survival of the species, as well as no guarantee that it will be beneficial for a particular individual today. They ate what they ate to get enough calories to fuel their activity from what was around them. There is nothing magical about their choices. Some might be good, others bad. But calories they all definitely needed.

How about fresh (or fresh-frozen) green peas and green fava beans? You can eat them raw and they are both very ancient (fava beans have been discovered in Egyptian tombs over 6000 years ago). Wouldn't it be logical to assume that they are good for you as a source of good fiber and protein and a moderate source of carbs? I love them and they fill in nicely when you need something grain-like at dinner

One of the reasons I like keto better than paleo is because of the dairy thing. I did have to give up milk 2 or 3 months ago, because I realized that the lactose was keeping my blood glucose and insulin levels too high, and it was keeping me from losing weight. But, I see no reason why I should ever have to give up butter or cream or cheese or sour cream. There has never been any indication that it causes me any issues.

Informative video. I just have a question, you recommended a book by an author who suggested in a video that both keto and paleo were fad diets, and postured that they both, along with fasting, and going into ketosis were all a bad idea. Her name is Dr. Schwarzebein. I definitely don't agree with her particularly on intermittent fasting because I know that I have personally benefited, but I was wondering where you find value with her advice or philosophy as much of what I have heard her say seems to contradict the videos that I watch from you and others like yourself whose opinion I have come to respect. Thanks
