Made this for Father's Day and all my non-keto family loved it. I love making your dishes for special occasions and sharing it with others. This was the easiest one for me and it tastes amazing. I opted to only make it caramel flavor and used a medium sized container. Once again thank you for sharing your work. Much blessings 🙏 Side note to others: Allulose is the way to go for the caramel...I've made it before with other sweeteners and it was not as pretty and delicious 😬

Perfect recipe. Didn’t have ube or pandan extracts so I just went traditional. Love the consistency. The only modification’s I did was I used brown swerve for caramel and added some liquid Splenda. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

I made the flan and put it in the refrigerator yesterday. My family tried it this afternoon and all loved it! So so yummy. I just added one more step of straining the mixture into ramekins for creamy texture. Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

Hi, my second comment on this video :) I have a video suggestion, though I understand you may chose not to take my suggestion. I understand you like to do your videos without narration. I understand that and it is somewhat refreshing because some people really talk a bit too much sometimes (I have no patience for vlogs and what I ate in a day or 8 minute rambles about personal life). But if you ever wanted to do some non-recipe videos that are more informational it could be very helpful to your subscribers. You replied to my last comment that though allulous is better for flan, erythritol would be better for creme brule. I'd love to hear you talk about how you pick the right ingredients for the particular recipe. Whether it be the sweetener, the kind of flour, the kind of fat or what-have you. I thnk I do understand why allulous was better for the flan caramel, but it would still make for interesting videos. And maybe you have other tips on how to be successful with baking keto recipes. There are a lot of channels with Keto desserts, but I think you really know how to bake in a way that maybe not all of the keto youtubers do. (not trying to insult them. they have their place too. But what you are doing is many steps above what most do in terms of baking)

I made this last night and just had it plain Flan and I must say that this is so delicious and I don’t feel guilty eating it because it’s keto. Just a clarification : Is the recipe 360 calories per ramekin or for the whole recipe? Thanks for all the yummy keto recipes!

Fantastic video! Your recipes are so amazing and I’m totally in love with them! Quick question for this recipe, if I wanted to only make the vanilla flan but put it in a bigger container all at once, does the time to cook change? If so, how much longer? Also, what size container do you recommend in order to thoroughly cook it? Thank you again for your videos!

thank you! you can make the whole recipe with just one flavour (vanilla) and try to bake it at 320°F for 50-60 mins. Just check it from time to time if it’s set. ❤️

Hi , could you tell me the one you called allulose I still not understand it is make from and why can't you use the stevia to make it change color,? is it work? if have to use allulose so which brand could you recommend me, I want to buy exactly so I can make caramel please. I'm loving your recipes. Almost quit trying to keto bake as my efforts tended to be so stodgy and felt underbaked. My one question before I dig into making flan recipes is how many ounces are in your 4" ramekins? I have 6 and 8-ounce sizes. Thanks!

Maria Lourdes Hi Maria! Yes you can definitely use erythritol/lakanto monkfruit for the caramel top but take note that erythritol will crystallize once it cools down so the caramel on top will have some grainy texture compare to allulose that has smooth consistency but nevertheless, it will still be delicious! 😋

I REALLY wish someone would post a keto flan recipe WITHOUT heavy cream! Heavy cream is not something I keep in my fridge nor want to buy..so if anyone has a heavy cream free way of doing this please post. Thanks!

You can use erythritol and just simmer it with water until it turns golden brown but take FYI erythritol will crystallize as soon as it cools down.

Qu'est-ce que l'allulose? L'allulose est un sucre faible en calories avec le même goût propre et sucré que vous attendez du sucre. Bientôt, vous pourrez le trouver dans une large gamme d'aliments et de boissons pour favoriser un mode de vie sain. L'allulose est l'un des nombreux sucres différents qui existent dans la nature en très petites quantités. Il a été initialement identifié à partir du blé et a depuis été trouvé dans certains fruits, notamment le jacquier, les figues et les raisins secs. L'allulose est naturellement présent en petites quantités dans une variété d'aliments sucrés comme la sauce au caramel, le sirop d'érable et la cassonade. Un monosaccharide, ou simple sucre, l'allulose est absorbé par le corps, mais non métabolisé, il est donc presque sans calories.

I see you use different sweeteners for different breads/cakes. And sometimes granule, other times powder... Are there any reasons you do that? I'm new to baking so don't know much about it. One thing I know is Allulose for ice cream. Thanks.

Hi! I usually use erythritol base sweeteners in my recipes except for caramel and ice cream to prevent crystallization due to erythritol. I also use powdered erythritol to avoid the gritty texture. ❤️

Ok! Just want to thank you for this recipe. The custard was really delicious. However, I have no idea why but the allulose had a super bitter taste to it after being carmelized. I don’t think I burnt it either but I’m just curious why it turned out that way?

Thank you! 😊 I’m sorry but I didn’t find it super bitter, actually for me it tastes like the regar burnt sugar from the regular flan. I’m not sure what happened to your allulose, maybe you really burnt it. Just melt it in low fire and wait to turn into amber gold color.

I have never heard of panda and ube extract or allouse , ( live in Bulgaria) do have vanilla, orange , rum lemon essence and stevia and erythritol , could I leave those panda and ube out ! and use erythritol for the caramel ! Thank you , its hard here sourcing some ingrdients x

Hello Maria, you can definitely replace the ube and pandan extract and replace it with any flavour extract you want. ❤️ You can use erythritol but the caramel on top will crystallize as soon as it cools down.😊

Yolanda Rosato the extracts like the ube and pandan are only optional. You can just use the vanilla for the original flavour. ❤️

Hi Nicolette, you can use erythritol for the caramel on top. But it will crystallize when it cools down so you’ll be having some texture on your caramel top. But nevertheless it will still be delicious.😋

Cannot buy Allulose in Australia as it is not an approved food 😢😢 Will have to use erythritol + stevia instead ........ shame, cause it would be nice to have lovely smooth caramel.

Hi Patty! Yes you can definitely use erythritol/lakanto monkfruit for the caramel top but take note that erythritol will crystallize once it cools down so the caramel on top will have some grainy texture compare to allulose that has smooth consistency but nevertheless, it will still be delicious! 😋

Hi Samantha. Pandan and ube are only optional if you want some varieties in your flan. You can get it in Asian supermarkets. But the orginal (vanillla/caramel) is always the best. 😊 With allulose I got mine from amazon. It’s available in US and Canada.❤️
