I've lived in Texas, California and Arizona, I've tried Mexican flans from a lot of stores and shops in these 3 states and they're all either bland, too sweet but no flavor and a lot of add in ingredients that are not natural, or taste kinda like " cardboard" or "eggy " like the other commentators here mentioned. I love a great creme brulee from Flemings but they're too pricey to have when I have my cravings for a little piece of dessert. So I thought my to go close to a Brulee is a Mexican flan but it's always a big disappointment. Then I was invited to a birthday party and one of the guests bought several Filipino Leche flans that I thought were egg caramel custards. I asked the host of the party and she explained what they are. Tasted it and oh my gosh, it's almost like Flemings' expensive creme brulee but creamier and flavorful in its own authentic ways. So I started looking and calling for a Filipino shops here in AZ if they are selling Leche flans everytime I have a big craving for it instead of spending too much money in Flemings.

The good ones are usually because they're using the same volume as whole egg recipes, but with only yolks. Removing the egg whites result in a softer creamier flan overall.

classic mexican flan has the exact same ingredients. One can of condensed milk. One can of evaporated milk. Caramel. And finally, your favorite egg yolk to white's ratio

If you don't have a steamer, you can use one of those aluminum pie pans. Poke holes into it, then put it inverted inside the pot with water. Anything you can find that can elevate the container for the leche flan is okay, as long as the water isn't higher than the container.

Our Filipino Leche Flan is the best version. I landed here in the US way way back. For the first time in my life, i tried "other countrie's flan". I was like, "definitely not the version i grew up with". I like our version way way way better since my toungue is used to the sweetness coming from condensed milk and caramelized sugar.

You can make leche flan from the left over egg whites. Just double the milk you use. You can also add Milo to the mixture (optional). It will turn out pale but if proportions of the milk is right (adjust consensed milk for sweetness) Make sure there is enough of the evaporated milk that when mixed, it does not look and feel thick. More milk lessens the eggy taste, avoid expanding of the egg when cooked and provide the creamy texture.

I copied this exact recipe and steamed mine on low heat for 60 mins but they were not as creamy as shown so I tried it again, same recipe but this time I steamed for 45 minutes and they came out perfect

I heard from an expert that if you overcook or undercook the flan idl loose the creaminess...So I do believe 45 mins is perfect.

I never liked flan or caramel pudding or caramel custard, so I never made it before. Homemade caramel pudding always had that eggy taste, so i never liked. But today, i made this recipe. omg, no one believed that it's actually homemade. I loved it. It has that crème brûlée texture. ❤❤ thank you for easy recipe ❤❤

I will never forget how I was always trying to find a way to get my hands on flan ever since I was like 7 or so because of that flan episode from Courage the Cowardly Dog. I'm a young adult now and I have yet to get my hands on one. I won't let this go until I finally eat it. It's been over a decade.

My mom uses the egg whites to make moist puddings. Same ingredients like that of leche flan, add up som bread crumbs or chopped stale breads and steam them as well.

I make leche flan this velvety also but I bake it in water bath. My family and friends love it. Melts in their mouths too. I have not tried steaming. Yours is very yummy!

Leche Flan is my fav dessert. When I was a kid, I annoyed my mom to buy me Leche Flan so bad that she cooked me a squash custard and made it look like a Leche flan. When I tasted it I immediately threw a tantrum. 😂😂😂

We kapampangans (Pampanga) use duck eggs intead of chicken eggs, we put (dayap) or filipino lime grated into mixture, a teaspoon of vanilla, brown sugar instead of white. 😊😊😊 So yummy 😋

I like to use flavored condensed milk like melon, coconut and mango in my flan. Try it! Egg white uses: face mask angel food cake marshmellows

egg whites can be cooked as well like leche flan, add 1 can evap tall and a cup of sugar, lemon zest , vanilla, need to mix thoroughly, strain it, just use again the same container usually there are still caramelized sugar on it left, this is reach in protein good for those with kidney problem, if you are diabetic substitute stevia as sugar or just add 1/2 cup sugar

GOD CAME to EARTH MAINLY to FULFILL that TRUTH "the Word became flesh," which means, He CAME so His WORDS WOULD COME in the FLESH (not like in the time of Moses in the Old Testament, when God spoke directly from heaven). 🙏 After that, EVERY ONE of His WORDS WILL be FULFILLED in the AGE of the MILLENNIUM KINGDOM, they will become reality visible to human eyes, and people will see them with their own eyes without the slightest difference. This is the highest meaning of God's incarnation. WHICH MEANS, the WORK of the SPIRIT is FULFILLED THROUGH the FLESH, and THROUGH WORDS. ☀️ THIS is the REAL MEANING OF "the Word became flesh" and "the manifestation of the Word in flesh." ONLY GOD CAN SPEAK the WILL of the SPIRIT, and ONLY GOD in the FLESH CAN SPEAK on BEHALF of the SPIRIT; the WORDS of GOD are MADE PLAIN in the FLESH of GOD, and EVERYTHING is GUIDED by IT. 🌹 No one is not covered, they all exist within its scope. Only from these utterances can people understand; those who cannot understand this are dreaming if they think they will understand these words they think they will understand these words in heaven. Such is the authority manifested in the flesh of God: that makes all believe. EVEN the MOST RESPECTED EXPERTS and RELIGIOUS PASTORS CANNOT UTTER these WORDS. They must believe the word, and no one can make a new beginning. GOD will USE WORDS that WILL CONQUER the UNIVERSE. He WILL DO this NOT with His FLESH, but with UTTERANCES from the MOUTH of GOD who BECAME FLESH to CONQUER ALL PEOPLE in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE; ONLY this is the WORD MADE FLESH, and this ONLY is the APPEARANCE of the WORD in the FLESH. 🙏 Perhaps, to people, it seems that God has not done everything completely----but GOD must FIRST SPEAK His WORDS so that PEOPLE can FULLY BELIEVE, and for them to be COMPLETELY IMPRESSED. In the absurd, people shout and wait; at the word of God, they are silent. God will certainly achieve this truth, because this is God's long-term plan: fulfilling the truth of the coming of the Word to earth. In FACT, there is NO NEED for Me to EXPLAIN---the COMING of the MILLENNIUM KINGDOM on EARTH is the COMING of GOD'S WORDS on EARTH. 🙏 The DESCENT of the NEW JERUSALEM from HEAVEN is the COMING of the WORDS of GOD that will LIVE with MAN, that WILL GUIDE EVERY ACTION of MAN, and ALL of HIS WHOLE WILL--INNER THOUGHTS. ☀️🙏 THIS is ALSO the TRUTH that GOD is REALIZING, and the WONDERFUL SIGHT of the MILLENNIAL KINGDOM. ☀️ This is GOD'S PLAN: His WORDS will be on EARTH for a THOUSAND YEARS, and they will REVEAL ALL His WORKS, and COMPLETE ALL His WORKS on EARTH, AFTER this PERIOD MANKIND will COME to their END. 🙏 From "The WORD Appears in the Flesh". holy book Fulfilled in "In the beginning He was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). ... and " When I looked up, someone handed me a book wrapped in a scroll.
