Keto on steroids is a version of the keto diet that’s very strict. It’s meant for people who need to lose weight really fast or who are at a plateau and need to jumpstart the program.
Normally, on the keto diet, you would consume 30g-50g of carbs per day. But, on this version of the keto diet, you would need to bring your carbs down to 5g per day. The best way to do this is to get your carbs mainly from vegetables. But, you still need to consider the number of carbs in the vegetables you consume.
It’s important not to overdo the protein you consume with this version of keto. You would want to consume 3-7oz. of protein per day. If you consume too much protein, your body will break it down and turn it into glucose. The key is to consume fattier types of protein.
There is a lot of fat with the proteins you’re going to consume. With this version of the keto diet, you’re not going to want to consume a lot of extra fat like keto bombs.
Appropriate fats would be:
• Olive oil (extra virgin)
• Butter
• Coconut oil
• Lard or tallow
• Macadamia nuts
• Pecans
• Cod liver
Foods to avoid on this version of keto (in addition to the things you would normally avoid on a keto diet):
• Dairy
• Berries
• Keto desserts
• MCT oil
A few things you can consume on this version of the ketogenic diet:
• Coffee or tea (only 1-2 cups of coffee per day)
• Electrolytes
• B vitamins (nutritional yeast)
• Vitamin D (unless you get sun or you consume cod liver)
• Sea salt (1-1.5 tsp. per day)
With this version, you’re going to consume one meal a day (OMAD). Every two weeks, you’re also going to do a 48 hour fast.
You would want to do high-intensity exercises two times per week (spread out). It needs to be high-intensity full-body exercises. On the off days, you would want to take long walks (for at least 45 minutes). Ideally, you would want to exercise during your fasting periods.
It’s also very important to get plenty of sleep, keep your stress low, get out in the sun and nature.

@@pmfranke1 but in a world with abundance in food we need to starve ourselves to avoid getting sick by eating too much of some types of food. But as long as we do it with enough nutrition and don't do calory restrictions we aren't really starving. We eat the food that is stored in our body. And we would have to eat more when body fat % reach about 5 to 10%. Then it's time to maybe add a meal, or eat slightly more at some of the meals.

Started Keto 39 days ago on May 20th.....have tried before but given up after a week....again week 2 was hard, all i wanted was carbs.....didnt want keto food at all.....but i had loads of keto food in so just stuck at it. After about 5 or so more days i started craving keto foods. after maybe day 14 started realising how much less hungry i was. so far in the 39 days ive been on Keto these are the benefits i've noticed.....there will be more, but for now just the ones i feel. (and i'm not one to notice subtle changes, coffee makes me feel no different, sugary foods dont, i never understood kids getting "sugar highs".....for me to notice a difference it has to be a big difference.......so lets start.... 1. Im down from 422lbs to 371lbs.....51lbs in 39 days. 2. a month ago i struggled to walk more than 200m without a rest.....walked a mile last week without a problem.....i've been around 370lb a lot of my life and usually struggle with long distances at that weight.....usually need to get down to maybe 330lb before i can walk a decent distance......but now at 371lbs feel like i usually do at 330 as far as walking goes. 3. feel happy, content, positive......more so than i can remember for many years. 4. Smoke less, I'm just not that bothered about smoking anymore.....the thought doesnt pop into my head anywhere near as much.....a few days ago i realised i hadnt had a smoke for 3 hours....but wasnt bothered....didnt jump up to go smoke....just carried on watching TV.....had a smoke next time i went to the kitchen an hour later. 5. Less hungry......not a little bit....but massively....id be hungry from the moment i woke til the moment i went to bed.....could easiy eat 3 takeaways a day. If i went to McDonalds id get at least 4 triple cheeseburgers and still not be satisfied.....now i order 2 with no bun and struggle to eat the second. I'm so not hungry the other day i didnt eat at all.....just didnt get round to it.....never felt hungry and was busy doing other things......never ever could that happen when i was on carbs 6. skin tabs.....after about 21 days noticed all the skin tabs on my neck were dissapearing....at first i thought i was imagining it.....but then saw a video on the cause of skin tabs....and its sugar....massive surprise but confirmed to me i wasnt just imagining it.....the comments confirmed it.....keto simply makes them vanish.....unexpected bonus 7. only realised this one today....always had really dry elbow skin.....its like smooth one way but rough as if you rub elbow to wrist direction.....kinda like rubbing a scaly animal the wrong way.....always put it down to spending time at a desk and resting my elbows on the desk.....but today i just rubbed my elbows and the dry skin has virtually gone.....was shocked.....proper unexpected surprise 8. Sleep....I used to wake 6-8 times a night to go to the toilet. sometimes 45 minutes between visits.....havent had a proper nights sleep for many many years....now i wake once after 5-6 hours.....quick pee....and thats me until its time to get up. 9. tiredness....i honestly was spending all day napping before.....being awake 2 or 3 hours without a few hours nap was good going.....i dont think ive had one nap this week. If I'd have known keto was more than just a weight loss thing and what else it would fix id have done it years ago....i'm so impressed in only 39 days i already know ill never go back.

@@cherylp.3347 I started this as I said I would, on Mar 1st... Went from 194 to 187 😊 My pastor actually preached something that helped me - he said that life is full of hard choices, and we need to ‘choose our hard’. It is hard (for me) to do OMAD. It is also hard when I don’t see the scale move for a long time, as well as the frustration of wanting to be at a lifetime healthy weight. I am choosing the difficulty of OMAD over the other....😊 When I want to give in, I remind myself that both options are hard, I get to choose one 😉. I also find it a bit easier each day that I do it. You can do this.... Go for it! ❤️

@@songbird857 Thanks. It's not the OMAD that's bothering me, I'm used to that. It's giving up my milk in coffee . Ok. I followed your Keto on Steriods (the older vid) starting last Friday. Had to weigh in at the Dr's office that day so figured, it's time. Printed out a list of proteins that were 20g protein along with their fat grams for that amount and how many grams/ounces they were, stuck it on the fridge. No diet plan. Just pick 3 each day, add 7 cups of leafy greens (basically two salads). A lean meat day got a little olive or avocado oil to balance it out. 60g protein, 75g fat max, ignore the carbs since they're ALL coming from the leafy greens. Had a followup at the dr office yesterday so I hopped on the same scale. 9.2 pounds down in 7 days. Dr did a double take at my chart. Wasn't drinking tons of water (just unsweetened black tea), nor peeing myself silly, no calorie counting madness. Nothing to kick my counting OCD into overdrive. IF on a 20:4 schedule. Little hungry on wakeup but nothing I couldn't easily ignore by staying busy. You're a genius, dude. I didn't lose weight this easily when I was 25 and I'm twice that old now.

Wasn't listed but Avocado oil is great to cook with as it has a higher smoke point and won't degrade fats in it just make sure Dr Berg approves I'm almost sure he will
@JYAN2852
@JYAN2852 3 жыл бұрын
Avocado oil has higher smoke point yes, but it also has higher amount of omega6. Avocado oil is more prone to oxidation when heated and exposed to light and oxygen. EVOO is protected with Vitamin E and contains less pufas making it much less susceptible to oxidation. It does have lower smoke point as you said so lard/tallow/butter/coconut saturated fat would be ideal for cooking at high temps over avocado oil
@MrBewbielover
@MrBewbielover 3 жыл бұрын
@@JYAN2852 LOL....no, don't know where you get your info from but... Avocado oil and Olive oil are almost identical, except the higher burn point of Avocado oil means it won't degrade when heated (like olive oil thus nullifying the Vitamin E) and it has about the same, if not more, Vitamin E. I use both, I don't heat either of them up, that's what left over bacon grease is for. The thing your talking about is "ratio" which is 11/7 Olive vs 13/5 for Avocado. Another problem with Olive oil is the "counterfeit" market, almost all brands are blends, or don't' even contain Olive Oil, or are already rancid because of light exposure.
@JYAN2852
@JYAN2852 3 жыл бұрын
@@MrBewbielover I don't cook with either of them either. As a matter of fact I don't eat them at all because of what you stated. Both are already rancid and aldulterated so can't trust any brand imo. I was simply comparing olive vs avacado for cooking. James DiNicolantio states on many of his podcasts as well as others confirming that vita E does a better job at protecting EVOO against oxidation. Avocado oil lacks vita E and does have a higher pufa ratio, not by much but it does. I personally prefer to eat the fruits not just the oils regardless. To each their own

I only eat salmon, eggs, avocado, chicken and beef and loads of lettuce iceberg which I love and zucchini. Am intollerant to lactose and nuts. I have a very limited number of products that I can eat without having stomach issues and am sticking with them. I also keep my steroid intake to the minimum as possible (I have lupus) but sometimes I am so bored with my diet. I take supplements that include zinc, magnesium and potassium to mention some... Breaking down protein into glucose is not something your body likes to do, but it will happen because certain organs need glucose to run. But eating a lot of protein will not kick you out of ketosis because it takes quite a bit of energy to break down proteins. You shouldn't be scared of eating too much protein, if you eat the right proteins that is.

What kinds of fat are discussed but not how much, like the carbs and protein. Too much fat means the body won't burn its own, right?
