Keturah is a woman from 'the land of Canaan' according to Jasher chapter 25. This means she is Abraham's distant cousin as he descends from Shem and she descends from Ham. Also, this same chapter confirms that Midian is east of the land of Cush which places it in sub-Saharan Africa in present-day Sudan and Ethiopia, on the east side of the Nile River.

But Ham's descendants are not the negroes. Black people of the slave trade of the Atlantic Slave Trade are descendants of Shem. They are the true Israelites who were brought into captivity WITH SHIPS - Deuteronomy 28:68 for not keeping the covenant only their forefathers to now didn't keep so the Most High God scattered them amongst the nations including the U.S. as punishment for disobeying. The original native Americans were/still are black. They are Israelites tribe of Gad. The Israelites because of their disbelief and disobediency, salvation came to the Gentiles because of their disbelief to provoke jealousy. The church does not replace His chosen people. He will yet choose Israel - Isaiah 14:1. Isaiah 14:1-2 is future prophecy of His people who are lowest of all nations but will be elevated in the end of Esau's descendants rulership when it is over. All are given the chance of salvation but Gentiles must cleave to Israel and keep the commandments the Messiah was sent to the house of Israel - Matthew 15:24. But the other nations now that they are given salvation if they remain faithful and keep the commandments should be careful not to boast against the original tree - Romans 11:11 to end of chapter. Israel must repent too. There is only a remnant Israelites and other nations (ethnos) of people who will be saved. The oppressors of Israel have whitewashed their history in the bible. Many will disagree but scripture said their oppressors would - 1 Maccabees 3:48 and the heathen would remove books of the bible.

The book of Jubilees clarifies that Hagar died before Sarah and that Keturah became Abraham's wife after Sarah's death.

Do you realize that ancient Rabbinical tradition states that indeed Hagar and Keturah are indeed the same person, and both Hagar and Ishmael themselves in the covenant. I have two Torah commentaries that state this. A modern Evangelical or Charismatic with Western Christian prejudice against Arabs based on the narrative after 911 by FOX News and the Military Industrial Complex to change the fact that Wahabist sect terrorists attacked the US to all of Islam so that the War on Terror became Nation Building. Al-Qaeda, then headquartered in Afghanistan, was the only real War on Terror. Staying in Afghanistan, invading Iraq, where Saddam was installed as dictator by a CIA coup to create an enemy against Iran after the 1979 revolution when the CIA-installed Shah was overthrown by the Iranian people. God is the Father of all peoples and wants to save all peoples. There were Arab Christians before Muhammad. The Bible was not even translated into Arabic until after Muhammad was off the scene. I put at least as much stock in what early Jews and Christians believed about Keturah as I do with what modern Christians believed about here. I gave this video a thumbs up for defending Keturah, the wife of Father Abraham, beloved by Jews, Christians, Muslims, Samaritans and Druze.

Could it be Abraham maintained the relationship with her and she bore the other 5 sons? Maybe 🤷🏽‍♀️, The Bible doesn’t tell exactly where she was banished or how far. It just says desert where the angel saved them from thirst. Could the angel also have directed Abraham where she was? Remember this was still his son, his first born, therefore as a father after a long time, I would think he was concerned of their wellbeing to a point where he still cared and provided for them until Sarah died. Anyway just a humble opinion!

It is possible that Keturah was a 'Lady-in-Waiting' to Sarah, and was possibly pre-ordained to be Abraham's wife in the event of Sarah's passing. Monarchies, for example, have male and female courtiers called favourites which serve in a Royal Family's court. Most of such individuals are begotten 'of the blood royal,' or are nobility, or are newly entitled after having previously been amongst the gentry or from the peasantry. The LORD God may have allowed Keturah to already live and serve in Abraham's household so that there would not have been a need to search for a new wife after Sarah's eventual passing. The LORD God simply saved Abraham additional heartache by already having Keturah known and familiar to him. The Most High had already promised 'Abram' that he would be 'the father of many nations.' So, Keturah being his lawfully wedded second wife served in living out the fulfilment of this prophecy. I research Biblical and world history and genealogical pedigrees all the time. So, therefore, I see the divine wisdom in carefully mating a specific man to a specific woman to continue royal and imperial dynastic bloodlines, especially to fulfill the prophecy and promise of continuing David's royal Judahite blood.

This is really good. Thank you. Another thing about Keturah is how old was she? If 90 years old like Sarah was too old to have children, Keturah had to be at the most 83 or 84 years old, and that's figuring she had one child a year through age 89. This means that Abraham was over 50 years older than Keturah if he got remarried at 137, the age he was when Sarah died. 137 - 84= 53.

Ishmael was 51 years old when Sarah died. So Hagar would've been et least 63 at the time of Sarahs death. Even if she got a son every year, she'd be 69-70 when her last son was born...

I’m about 9 mins in. The presentation is amazing, and I love delving into details in the Bible that we normally skip over. One detail though, Abraham and Sarah were both from Ur of the Chaldeans, not Canaan. They moved to Canaan in obedience to God, but they were not Canaanites. The way it’s worded sort of implies Sarah was Canaanite rather than Semite. A minor detail to us, but lineages were laid out for a reason. God bless.

Keturah is my daughter's name. ITs a beautiful name. A lot of christians are surprised when they ask abut the name and i tell them it's Abraham's wife's name. I wonder if they skip this part of the scripture. Keturah isn't mentioned when speaking about Abraham's family. It's just Sarah and HAgai.

Sarah was Abraham half sister of whom he took as his wife. However God made a promise to Abraham and Sarah of the Promise child Isaac . God's covenant remained with Isaac, through that promise Our Lord Jesus came. Although Abraham's other children were blessed with gifts Isaac was chosen even before birth to him and Sarah. However afterwards we all became reconciled to the Lord Jesus who ever accepted him as Lord and Saviour.

Awesome. What’s your definition of fair? Did you know the Hebrew word for “fair” is beautiful? I notice when people read the word “fair” in the Bible…they think it means white but it doesn’t. 1 Samuel 17:42 “and when the philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair (beautiful) countenance.” Look up fair in the strong’s concordance or in “OLD” dictionary’s. They have changed the meaning of words from what they used to mean.

Personally I think it's unlikely Hagar is the same person as Ketura. Biblical facts: Abraham was 86 years old at the birth ishmael (gen <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="976">16:16</a>) Abraham was 100 years old at the birth izak (gen <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1265">21:5</a>) Sarah was 90 years old at the birth izak (gen<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1037">17:17</a>) Sarah died when she was 127 years old (gen <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1381">23:1</a>) Abraham died when he was 175 (gen <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1507">25:7</a>) So Ishmael was 51 when Sarah died. If Hagar was 12 at the time of Ishmaels birth, she'd be 63 at the time of Sarahs death. If she got a son each year she'd be 69 or 70 at the time when she gave birth to her last son. Personally I think Hagar was even older when she gave birth to Ishmael, but I've no proof. Either way, for me it's unlikely Hagar is the same person as Ketura.

We the Malays of Malaysia believe that Keturah was from South East Asia. If I'm not mistaken, she was from the Kingdom of Champa..The Champa was a Malay Kingdom before the Viets invaded the kingdom n nowadays is known as Vietnam. We believe that we are the descendants of Keturah. And to us, Keturah was not Hagar or Siti Hajar as she is known in our language. We have brown skin not African black.

She fulfilled a role just like Rahab the prostitute fulfilled a role but as we are in the new testament it should be mentioned that The Lord said concerning marriage which is: The Bible continues, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Gen. <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="144">2:24</a>). God honors one wife and one husband marriage but in all things with life's ups and downs, not always intended by God (meaning the things we do in our own will and fleshy desires ) Father God will still use every part of your life for His glory in Jesus name Amen.
