Upgrade the rear 14t freewheel to 11t to get better pedal assist as well. Simple thing to do on these. IDK why all these department stores bikes keep using inefficient 14t freewheels in the rear that limits top speed. Larger range 11t-34t will also help with hill climbs. That small 350W motor could use all the help it can get.

Agreed....I thought by now some kind of regulation for safety would make it mandatory that a motor cutoff is included in any and every braking system in order to sell e‐bikes in the North American markets.

It's very convenient when im going around a corner, and i can pull the brake just enough to kill the motor, but pedal around it like a normal bike. Sometimes you dont want the pas kicking on during a corner.

more chances that you will get brick if you buy proprietary esystem from bosch that is not interchangeable and locked by software.on most of this cheap chinese Esystem bikes motor/battery/controller interchangable and cheap to buy.motor from 80$ new and controller 30$ and you can also connect to any battery

That's why I built my own. Any 48-52v shark style battery fits. Bonus I was able to fit about 50% larger battery than anything I've seen on prebuilt bikes.

Technically cheap Chinese style e-bikes are pretty repairable. The 3 main components, the controller, the battery, and hub motor are easily sourced. Compared to a Bosch bike, you can only get the repair via Bosch. Some western bikes have digital systems on the battery that will brick itself if it is connected to different controller. The main issue is the labor to fix a $500 ebike is probably $100-200 before parts.

This is a great deal. I brought one two weeks ago. I have no complaints and have 120 miles and counting. I added the service plan for about $36 for three years.

Their website says there's only one gray one available at my local Walmart, so I put it in my cart. Then I started reading the reviews, and I noticed that almost all of them are "incentivized," meaning the reviewer got a free bike for submitting the review. That sort of undermines the credibility of the 4.6-star rating. So I'm not sure now.

He said cadence sensor so for me that makes this bike a no go. Cadence sensor bikes with no brake cutoff seems like a bad idea. Could feel jerky at the pedals too.

@@grayson_morgan Glad to help. The controller is below the battery, remove the battery and use a #1 phillips screwdriver to remove (3) screws from the black cap. Pay attention which screws went where. Use a pair of pliers to lift the black cap straight up. Right on top of the wiring, you will see two unused plugs. The throttle uses the three wire plug. Now that you know what the plug should look like, you can order your throttle. Every time I put a link in a comment, the comment gets deleted? So search the web for ebike throttle, and order the type you want. I used a thumb throttle. Now that you have your throttle, making sure the wires are black to black and red to red, go ahead a plug in the throttle at the controller.(we are testing) On this bike you can connect your battery by setting it mostly in place, and then pushing down on the top of the battery. Don’t push hard on the bottom or you may pinch your wires. Now, you should be able to start the ebike. Make sure it is in pedal assist mode (1). The throttle will not work at pedal assist (0). Lift up the rear wheel and try your throttle. I should work, if not check connection(s). Now that you know the throttle works, unplug it. Next, you need to feed the throttle wire/plug up from the bottom so you can permanently connect it to the controller. Use a “fish tape” method. Connect the throttle to the controller, and replace the black cap. Remove the right side handlebar grip, move the brake lever and shifters over a little and slide the throttle onto the handlebar. Replace the grip, secure loose wires, and you are done. Honestly, it is not a five minute job, it could take an hour or more, but it is time well spent. p.s. I chose to just tape the throttle wire under the bike frame, but it could be done with the wire hidden internally (fish tape). Good Luck, let me know how it goes.

Take the battery out of the frame and charge it outside. That's what I'd do, just as a precaution.

I still charge ebike batteries (even from the big brands) in either my fireplace or the bike barn. Hopefully, I never have to make a video showing what can go wrong 🔥🙃

Its bad English not an accent. otherwise youd hear it elsewhere. in fact its so far off from English its no longer an accent... and they CAN pronounce WH no problem, only certain words they sound like that...nice try... also the toung stay in the same position for both sounds....its not like they are rolling their toungs or anything unique..litterally do both sounds ..the tonge doesnt move...maybe try it out before you speak.. you litterally need to tell your lungs to put the extra effort out
