Kevin , so dear Kevin what a brillant soul and person you were...those 3 days when i produce you in Montreal will stay in my heart for ever. You played Lady Rachel brillantly with daevid Allen on space guitar, it was perfect ! Like that night in Belgium !

[31 January 2022] Are you saying that you served as Ayers' producer, briefly? If you did, then you were *SO LUCKY* , getting to work with him. What was he like? I'm much too young to have met Ayers when he was in his prime, unfortunately. I wish I could have met him. Won't you *please* tell me what he was like?

@@elizabethhann4028 Hello Elisabeth, yes indeed i produced the only , ever solo concert in Montreal of Kevin Ayers paired with Daevid Allen. Working with him was soft and nice . Only one rule : Keep himn fart away from the boose before the concert. He was a nice chap.... but very dark and sad when not under the effect of alcohol. Getting better with wine. It was very particular...because after the concert we wnt in a private home with Daevid and Daevid went to bed soon. Kevin, a friend and me , wrote in the automatic way, poems and Kevin played the guitar on the sofa.... all night.. geeting high oon coke and wine , we smoked too but Kevin didn't like smoking... we went to bed around 6 in the morning . He asked me to find him champagne and Valium around 4 in the morning because he couldn't go to sleep withpout that... i went through the city and never found of course...very sad way to leave him..He felt asleep anyway.... Crossing the border with both of them was quite an experience too... In Burlington to Cannada, imagine Daevid dress like a hippie and Kevin playing drums with his hands on his knees...it took hours. Kevin was thirsty for booze and he was drinking maple syrup by the can.... 3 days very interesting indeed...

Lucky? Perhaps..but older...I also remember a concert of Kevin (1976??) with Andy Summers playing guitar (replacing Halsall) and still the big Zoot Mooney who was really amazing keyboards player. The fitst band on stage was : Caravan, then Kevin and Soft Machine closing the night !!!

She climbs up the stairs by the light of a candle Then the door with no handle is closing behind her again She places the light on a chair by the window Says a prayer while the wind blows And then in her bed clothes she hides Now she's safe from the darkness She's safe from its clutch Now nothing can harm her At least not very much What will you dream of tonight Lady Rachel? What will you dream of tonight? Who will you dream of tonight Lady Rachel? Who will you dream of tonight? She climbs up a hill and is handed a parcel Then she unwraps the parcel And discovers a castle inside The draw bridge is open And a voice from the water Says 'Welcome my daughter' "We've all been expecting you to come" She climbs up the stairs with the light of a candle Then the door with no handle is closing behind her again Now she's safe from the darkness She's safe from it's clutch Now nothing can harm her At least not very much What will you dream of tonight Lady Rachel? What will you dream of tonight? Who will you dream of tonight Lady Rachel? What will you dream of tonight? Who will you dream of tonight Lady Rachel? What will you dream of tonight?

Not many people can whisper a song part within an amplified band setting. This is a better song than most Pink Floyd after Barrett.

What IS this? Seriously? Poor Ollie Halsall having to put up with this "experimental fusion". What a waste of musical genious. Have to stop now - or I´ll fall asleep ...
@Fexobs7 жыл бұрын
Clueless
@RocknJazzer5 жыл бұрын
uh, first off that part is not fusion at all...it's just a bit of open spaciness ala pink floyd if anything. Secondly, you do know ollie and patto was considered fusion of sorts, right? at least a prog or rock version of fusion, not jazz per se. So if you like ollie you cant knock fusion, I mean ollie filled in with Tempest after allan holdsworth left. The term fusion is misused and misunderstood.

Well your analysis is far from supreme and looks like an easy listener, that hasn't got a clue what is talking about...
