I live on 24.000 Euro (around 25k-26k Dollar depends on the exchange rate) a year, incl. rent for my house, full healthcare, energy, food, insurance, free time fun, car here in northern Germany. And my life is quite good. 😀

@SkandalRadar
@SkandalRadar 2 жыл бұрын
@@MrJesterboi I don't know. It's just the cost of living here. And I don't live frugally or anything. In Eastern Europe, it's still much cheaper, although of course you have to make some sacrifices in Bulgaria or Romania in terms of infrastructures etc. Germany, however, is comparable to the USA. I pay 950 Euro rent (around 100 square meter house / 5 small bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, guestbathroom, little garden) here (cold), with utilities I'm at 1250 Euros per month. It is a little town near Kiel, Germany. The whole by two, because my wife pays the other half. As an example of the cost of living. Full health insurance pays 50% of the employer and I pay the other 50%. So for me, costs of about 300 Euros per month for the statutory health insurance, which covers almost everything (except beauty treatments). And college or university is almost for free here in Germany. It is around 200-500 Euros per year but then you mostly have an annual ticket for public transport included.

Thank you Kevin. What a great story! I'd be curious to see a video more along the lines of Living on (average wages) in (any city). Because I suspect that is a demographic that struggles at living within/under their means. Americans are far to susseptibale to marketing and perceived social expectations. We seem to believe that we need $300 shoes, a daily $5 coffee drink, a $1200 phone, and to eat out four times a week. So I'd like to see an example of people with an average income, that manages their finances and life well. Thanks again!

I don't see the substance, I question why she did a genetics degree to just taking an entry level job that anyone could get in trading. Then quickly generating a lot of money without saying what subject matter(s) she is known for.

If you ask most young people when they think they'll be able to retire, chances are they overestimate their saving potential. Let's not castigate people for a lack of life experience. Every generation experiences financial bubbles and fads.
@AyaanFarax223
@AyaanFarax223 2 жыл бұрын
Every generation goes through bubbles. In the 90's it was the dot-com bubble, in the 2000's it was housing, and now it might be crypto. In the 1600's, it was tulips--seriously boomers, tulips? It's easy to slam "millennials", but this generation is no different than the last? A certain percentage of the population will get caught up in hype. 10 years from now, people will be slamming digitals for whatever hyped craze is taking over in the future. Older generations have already felt that pain and (hopefully) avoid repeating the same mistakes of the past.

If I grew up never being exposed to a real, lasting, painful economic recession, where the Govt didn't rush in & shower money over everyone at the hint of a "downturn", then I'd also likely believe in the financial alchemy that seems to underpin so much of our financial markets nowadays. Sadly, just like the fact that actual reality doesn't match the fantasy world of Harry Potter, the cold-light-of-day reality of money & markets & what it takes to find financial security & freedom is a lot harder & less enduring than most people comprehend. Markets don't always go up & to the right in perpetuity. Just like you can't walk through walls, fly around on broomsticks, or say a magic spell to magically change things into whatever you want them to be. Actual reality eventually wins out. And I fear a tough dose of that hard reality is coming hard & fast. Lets see the result of this survey on the other side of the reckoning...

I think one thing being missed here is the girl obviously had a lot of help from her mom. She had credit built up before she turned 18, she has no student debt (her mom being the astute saver she is probably had a college fund for her daughter) and both of those factors are rather crucial at that age. For most of the general public who actually come from rags to riches, we were not setup like that. Great for her still, but it certainly wasn’t done all by herself.

You can put your kid on a credit card and they can ruin their credit you can pay for some of your kid collage and they can flunk or not get a job in that field she is the reason she makes 650k not her mom or anyone else

You’re making a lot of assumptions here lol “probably had a college fund”… even if she had zero debt it’s still incredibly difficult to get to that level at 27. Just give her the full credit man, she 100% deserves all of it, even if she had the right guidance and a bit of help. I swear everyone likes to poke holes to make themselves feel better and justify not putting in the work.

It’s also about your family unit or parents. It doesn’t matter how bright, good hearted, if a child isn’t steered to success meaning college, start a business, financial literacy, and helped with these things, they will struggle. We can all get there but it take help and some have the help sooner than others.

100% agree. Also, having natural curiosity of learning too! My family always had horrible spending habits, but at a young age I wanted to learn how I could become financially stable & break the cycle. That led me to books & seek out resources to learn before starting out college.

She need to buy her living space. No matter how much money you make, if you don’t own what you need you will always be in a bad situation. Money and investments go up and down. But you will always need a place to live! You should own some type of motorized transportation also. With debt and credit digital currencies will never take over.

Okay. I have some questio s. First, HOW did She live and work in NYC on $12,000 per year? Next, WHERE did She get the money to move from NYC to LA? Further, HOW did She graduate from College with ONLY $21,000 in TOTAL DEBT? I have known many peoe who graduated from State Funded Colleges with much more debt. Finah, HOW is She able to demand a base salary of $120,000 per year WITHOUT very much work experience? I have known many people who have graduated from College with many years of work experience who don't evenake $100,000 per year. I have known many Coege profesdors, factuly, and staff who HAVE NOT MADE AT LEAST ONE HALF OF $100,000 Annually. The same can be said for tbose who have NO College Education. I know many peoe in my hometown who work for governme t agencoes that make FAR LESS THAN $100,000 Annually. To me, something just doesn't add up. Perhaps I am missing something, maybe She is making the bulk of her money in Social Media. I don't know because I avoid Social Media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.

Kevin - did you not catch in her monthly expenses she only spends $165 on food? Now, if she's expensing all her meals through her business accounts and not capturing that here in her "personal expenses", that makes sense. I would assume then that there are a lot of expenses coming out of her business to keep her wardrobe, meals, travel, etc. paid for from the 650k income. Either way - excellent work by her - very impressed!

I agree too. I make $185k a year and I’m the same age as her and I’m shocked by how inexpensive (relatively speaking) part of her budget is. I agree, she must not be including her full expenses. Either way, good on her.

How are you doing in life has a lot to do with your interests. It doesn’t take a genius to do what this girl did you just have to be interested in the right thing. Most young people aren’t thinking about getting into Wall Street and trading they’re thinking about college and becoming doctors and lawyers. Imagine if when you were 18 instead of saying I’m gonna go to college and be a doctor you said I’m going to spend the next three years working a regular job and investing and learning about the stock market. You would be in the same position she is in you just have to be interested in things that are actually going to give you money and put your time and effort into those things. Doctors and lawyer makes great money but the student loans set you behind like 10 years.
