I saw Pentatonix in concert and they have a segment where it's just Kevin and his cello. The man is just as amazing live.

Oh man, you've still got so far to go crushing on Kevin. Wait until you get to his KOver of "Down" (that's what we usually start people on for him lol). The things that man can do with a couple instruments and a looper shouldn't be humanly possible.

I am gobsmacked. The things that man can do... cello, sax, sing, piano, beatbox, write/arrange music... and he finished a pre-med degree!!! I mean, he played Beyoncé like a flippin guitar!! (That's his cello's name, in case you didn't know.) I have never seen that done before! I played the violin from 6th grade until I was in my late 20's, and I had the opportunity to play around with a cello at my church. It's my favorite instrument to listen to, also! Something about the deep richness of the sound as it reverberates through the wood. I only figured out scales, nothing fancy, but it was so cool!

Lol, I share your sentiment Jennifer, there aren’t to many things I wouldn’t give to play the cello at this level. His talent well does not have a bottom, just crazy, thanks for everything!

I absolutely adore this KO original. 💙💙💙💙 Yes, it's ethereal and haunting, but there's also something sensual to it. I can picture a couple ballroom dancing to this. Maybe a tango. It's a gorgeous composition. Kevin is crazy amazing.

Kevin is amazing!!!! Did anyone mention that he also speaks Chinese fluently also? If the cello is your favorite instrument you should check out "The 2Cellos". They are two classically trained cellists who venture into rock and contemporary pieces. Try Eye of the Tiger or =The Troupers Overture or Highway to Hell also Mombassa. They will blow you away! And I would suggest Wake Me Up/Aviici. So cute and funny. But so are many of their pieces. Or if you don't want cute and funny, try Hurt or Shindler's List theme.

Ethereal is the perfect word. I could see that being sung during an establishing shot in a movie, sung as a camera moves over the desert. Or over a romantic portion of a movie... Wait until you check out more of KO, Down, Sign Of The Times, True Colors and more. You will enjoy each and everyone.

I think the opening of Renegade really gives away Kevins classical training in music. I love the way he sees no boundaries in what can/can't, should/shouldn't, just his own musical instincts make the best music. Your hesitance to pause, your eyes rolling back and your jaw dropping: we feel ya, LOL! I hope Mrs RSR got to watch it too after you ;-) I hope the chiropractor could help a little on your way to healing your back :(

It is indeed hauntingly beautiful as I commented when I requested this before Christmas. Even more stunning when you know it's his own composition. As you said, our Kevin has the talent of three musicians, and then some. Your reaction was, as I suspected, perfect - thank you :)

My mom plays violin quite well and she always talked about certain techniques that were absurdly hard to do well and this was one of them, thanks for watching!

Kevin is just so amazing. I know you’ll enjoy his other pieces as well. You should also check out The Piano Guys if you like cello. I know piano is in the name of the group but it usually is a cello and a piano. They are also amazing.

Ha ha ha! Kevin can afford to buy clean boots, I'm sure! Kevin is not only talented, he is extremely intelligent also. He is a Yale graduate, and even though he loved and had excelled with the cello, had originally planned on going to medical school - until Pentatonix came knocking. I hope you got some relief for your back! I have a very messed up back and need a hip replacement. I know all about that pain. Great reaction!!
