My Wing Chun has definitely heavily influence how I do my Jiu Jitsu. But Sifu Francis Fong is taking it to a different level on how Chi Sao's being applied in different scenarios .
Hope you guys enjoy this one!

@@KevinLeeVlog Not a martial artist (or well havent been one in 20 years) i feel like making comparisons to different styles HELPS significantly with conveying the practical use of certain exercises, for example on the surface, sticky hands looks like patty cake. but when you draw the lines to for example the Muay thai clinch game things make sense, like for example how the elbows stick to the sides to fend off knees and such

You would like to see also Erik Paulson and Greg Nelson. They also trained various traditional martial arts including Wing Chun to enhance their mixed martial art skills like Francis here and taught world champions in combat sports like wrestling thanks to that expertise. More and more people are begining to understand the true nature of what "MMA" is supposed to mean in the first place.

People often seek easy results without too much effort. But Wing Chun is Kung Fu, it requires time invested in it and the results are relevant only when at higher-level compared to other basic things. But it is, basic and fundamental, in the first place. True martial artists who actually want to know, come to realize quick enough how useful those skills are in so many aspects of fightning. Handfighting is as important as footwork. It's not the single best answer to everything, everyone can do it to some extent naturally, you might not want to focus solely on that, you can still be good without mastering it like crazy, but damn you're missing on something so basic that can change your whole game if you don't specifically train it.

Thank you Kevin Lee for another great educational and philosophically sound video. This man, he is a treasure and reminds me of all the Dai - Shihan from the "Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu" schools all around the world, his wisdom is sound, and he is hitting so hard on the lessons of the, "Jihi- No-Kokoro" (benevolent heart) obtained through training and moving through life and death and being brought to the brink through experiences in real life and practical applications, he even talks about the "Sanshin-No-Kata" or (the form of the three hearts), in which we learn how to BLEND everything together, flowing from one kamae, kata, stance, waza, and not only do we just blend in our Budo Taijutsu movements but on a spiritual and mental level we begin to blend EVERY form, Chinese, Japanese, European, Western, of martial arts and through my studies, and with what Sifu talks to you about at the end of the video...and naturally we blend the same way with our studies and educational/sudies and practices. As long as you're doing it, moving/kinetic, you will grow and this helps us to obtain, "GoKuI" or such enlightenment to be untouchable or unobtainable, and this alone could take an entire lifetime. And that is great! I'm sure life gets hard but once you have obtained the pure martial enlightenment it is a good life with all of it's trials and hardships. So we just have to keep practicing! We have to keep moving, changing (Taihen Ki Hon Jutsu) - Body Movement Changing Skills, (Ki Hon Happo/Hachi) - Eight way movement, because if we keep moving we are living and as we slow down or stop we are dead. I remember watching a video ten years ago w/Masaki Hatsumi Soke where he said those exact words and when Sifu said it I jumped out of my seat and was like..."Hell yeah Sifu!" Hahaha! All in all I'm super stoked to be able to wake up to good Kevin Lee Wing-Chun, boxing, and other forms of martial arts, videos and content. Thank you Sifu for your years of hard work and practice and the wisdom you have gained. Kevin you and your crew are treasure and I am grateful to you all! Keep up the good fight and I cannot wait for more great content from Yourself and Sifu and whomever else you bring to the dojo. As we say in the 'BuJinKan', "Shi Kin Hara Mitsu Dai Komyo" (may our next act bring enlightenment), if this is spelled wrong please go easy on me I was very excited to post this!

YEA --- he "feels the movement" and every more has a Balance point where you shift from Yin to Yan --- thats why he appears FASTER - when he really isn't - he just knows when exactly to make the Transition -- it comes from lots of time and effort in the MOVES

By happenstance perusing youtube I discovered the vid that the two of you did; a really cool basics of Wing Chun tutorial about a year ago. @@KevinLeeVlog I never got the chance to train wing chun, though I got to spar a guy once, nowhere near your teacher's level. But the idea of stickiness is something I got exposed to in taiji and systema. IME those skills are gateways to throws, chin na and hockey fighting from a striking context, and I used to wonder why Wing Chun folk I saw didn't use it that way. The answer is they didn't have the whole picture like this man. Very high level IMO
