I don't doubt that that's a powerful punch, but the uke's reaction is OTT - if you're really being injured that badly be each punch, you wouldn't be coming back so energetically for another. The pantomime isn't necessary to demonstrate a good technique

Thats a cool technique

Look at the knees moving towards him before the hands thrown feet come of the floor so subtle you dont notice even after youve been touched now thats martial arts down to the core bruce le used this technique alot with his unique fients and tensing to distract before he strikes love dis

Any particular reason for not using a punching bag for the demo? Poor guy took it very bravely and did a great job but I wonder what was the point of putting him through that.

Romans 5:3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Very legit and smooth, love it. There's alot of bullshit around but this looks quite accurate what I'd expect. It's a bit similar to the german Freiringen. I like the encouragement of continuity, it's a very, very hard thing to practice because it requires you to not settle on a single technique you tried to do in the moment.

Tai Chi isn't very useful in combat especially street fights which can be hyper aggressive or when facing off with someone who practices a different discipline like muy-tai, karate, juijutsu, wrestling or kick boxing.

IMO - a lot of martial arts can and do work. But we don't train them in a way that lets them be effective any more. Seeing stuff more and more like this where UFC is providing a place where we can get that back and incorporate some of these things in an effective way again.

good applications. it is usually very difficult to dissect the applications from traditional chinese boxing. Hal Mosher (chen pan ling's taiji) is very good at it. it doesn't look like anything until you see it and then it's obvious. allen pittman (hsing-i and ba-gua - walking the i-ching) also teaches applications. the applications are endless.

There’s nothing mysterious about this. I did WC for a couple of years and I have all the same power. The problem is they’re always trying to block everything, and when that fails it’s trouble because they don’t practice dynamic head movement and footwork..
@NapoleonGelignite5 сағат бұрын
There’s loads of footwork and head movement in WC. The footwork is almost identical to old school boxing - if it’s being taught correctly.

good stuff. But even the engagements here weren't 100% reality. Neither struck first, just straight to grappling/wrestling. Distance and footwork is king. The problem with 99% of the knife defense you see on the internet is it is assuming the attacker is unskilled. (not trained in actual knife arts) Which in reality is usually true. But training to counter attack an unskilled person with a knife will only get you killed when a skilled person is the one wielding. Still, better than most of the counter knife videos out there.
