Heyy Kevin, very very grateful to you . I unlocked the office 365 app through my student account and it is working just as expected but I earlier had office 2016 ,so when I open office 365 it opens with the name of office 2016 but has an user interface of office 365 .

Microsoft have realised they are late to the party and are desperate to catch up with the big players in the field of 'data-mining'. Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. Edge, Bing Searches, Files stored online, etc all contribute to building a profile of you as an individual which is then sold for marketing purposes. If you are happy with this then no drama, if not then set up the account with fake details, customise cookie settings, and do lots of random searches (do a load of searches for special offers, mercedes test drives, , or free stuff...you never know what the algorithm might send you :) ).

Students are eligible only from schools that pay for A2 level subscription for all students. Almost all schools enroll only to A1 which makes little difference for students.

Wondering if it's a PC vs MAC issue? I did discover today that my Windows 10 PC did NOT have the Office app, so I installed it. one issue - if we store our docs on One Drive you store it on a Microsoft server - if we do that then its no longer on our physical drive. This is how MS will in future make money. That is the downside. We will be pressured later to buy the full 365 package and to buy into the One Drive option in time. The upside is that you are protected from a burned out drive.

I had a quick question, If my product code expired on my word and I uninstall word, but "save as" to my desktop does that automatically download an authentic version of word to my computer? If i do uninstall word will it delete all my word docs i have saved on my desktop? Thanks in advance!!

Na there is a bad side, it makes you change your Skype account means you change it to regular email address to use the word document.
