I hate those people when you say something totaly normal, and they make it awkward by turning to their friends saying "ugh...okay?" in a bitchy way. Glad they recognize this bullshit that people do.

No, I agree with you. I hate pretentious assholes who try to rig up a clan of some sort in a group conversation, push one guy to the "rival" clan, convince others of a common enemy, usually by the bystanders effect, and leech on the passive aggressiveness to settle into a group. I love being the asshole realist like this guy. Well.... Like House.

@Infinite Warlock, 1. Comic book adaptation is a term that describes any movie that's based on a comic book. It doesn't matter if you like the movie or not. You don't decide what is a comic book adaptation and what's not. If it's based on a comic, it's a comic book movie by default. 2. I can safely call Christopher Nolan's Batman movies the best Batman adaptations in live-action. There is no denying in how they embrace the gritty and urban mythical tone of the iconic stories from Denny O'Neil's Batman comics and Legends of the Dark Knight. But more than that, they embrace the larger world of Batman, which has been severely underplayed in other movie iterations. They helped to popularize characters like Ra's Al Ghul and Lucius Fox, who were known only to hardcore comic book fans before getting their due in The Dark Knight trilogy. Those movies also showed Arkham properly on the big screen for the first time. Plus the emphasis on Gotham's crime syndicates, which always played major part in the comics, but was never made important in other movies. Then we also have the first proper live-action telling of Bruce Wayne's tragedy, with Joe Chill being the real killer of Waynes. Ya-da-ya-da-ya-da, you get the point.

Beautiful mockery of the dismissive attitude that now passes for taking the high road in a conversation. Definitely symptomatic of many larger issues at work in American culture these days. Won't take my ol' Grandpa rant too far, as I'm in my 30s, but I find this behavior frustrating and wish MORE folks got called out like this. Glad I'm not the only one annoyed with people who act like this!

I played this sketch for a classical music appreciation class I taught at a community college. My point was, "You don't have to like classical music as much as I do, but I want you to leave this class with at least some semblance of an opinion on the subject. I don't want you to have to be 'that guy' in society with regard to this aspect of refined culture."
