Sadly, and I would really really want to be less cynical about this (and what Gojira are doing is great, don't get me wrong), as long as Bolsonaro is going to be in charge in Brazil, nothing will fundamentally change. This guy is a complet wacko. Just listen to one of his speeches. Oh, and he also stole the elections and threw Lula in prison of false charges (who was actually doing things for the Amazonia), as if it was not enough.

@@bengagnon2894 As a brazilian, i'm very happy to see that people are paying atention to horrible political situation that we are facing right because of the far right government that sadly got elected at our last presidential election. Bolsonaro and his ministers, as Trump did in the US, everyday are trying to enforce their scorched earth politics at our country. Right now he is trying everything to get the military forces under his command and start a dictatorship at our country before the next presidential election that will (maybe) happen next year... Is very difficult to be Brazilian right now, not only we are at the center of the covid-19 pandemic, but also have to struggle with a lunatic as president.

GOJIRA has said that this track is a tribute of sorts to SEPULTURA. That being said I " believe " that is a berimbau ( the mouth harp sound) Max Cavaler of SEPULTURA ( and SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, NAILBOMB, KILL OR BE KILLED ) has been known to play one now and again and I believe it is fairly popular in Brazil. That doesn't sound like a berimbau. I'm brazilian and did quite a few years of capoeira lessons when I was a child. Berimbau was played there always. That's more likely a mouth harp or a "berimbau de boca" as it is known around here. It's not the same instrument as a typical berimbau.

You asked if any of the band members works with the sound engineering of the records, this is what Joe Duplantier said about their second album on Spotify's Metal Talks in 2016: "We did our second record ourselves. At home. We bought some gear, we took a loan at the bank. [...] We bought a console, Pro Tools, some mics, renovated the garage and created our own studio in France. And we recorded our second album, I remember the first day when we gathered to record, we were reading the manual, how it works, the Pro Tools and how to plug everything, and that's in 2002. We did this album, The Link, struggled a lot to record and to mix, but we did it. So that's why the sound is so weird, some people are like 'oh, it's interesting' but for us it was like, we didnt' really achieve the goal we had in mind" Nowadays, Gojira has their own studio in New York, so they probably work very closely with the engineer. Maybe you should listen to a song from this The Link album to hear how it sounds. I recommend "Remembrance" ;)

So glad to see this environmental matter turning out into a global discussion, but at the same time so sad to see the Amazon jungle burning at unprecedent rates... as a Brazilian who used to visit the Amazon at least twice a year, it's just heartbreaking to see this nature's miracle disappearing in front of our eyes. Amazônia!! Also, I really digged into your perspective about not only the environmental awareness that Gojira brings, but also the "reality and existence" awareness as a whole. As a person who took it further being on psychosis two times in my life, being struggling with the coherence about the relations and structures of all of our History, Culture and Technology as Human Beings, experiences like hearing Gojira, seeing you reaction, reading the comments, people liking it and internalizing the experiences, that / this is transcendental. However, what bothers me the most is that this is like a privilege for most of the people around the world because they are not only struggling to maintain, coercitively, this nocive and toxic structure of socioeconomics but are occupied trying to survive, you know? And this kind of experience has no place in their lives, or is replaced with placebos and religions, which I understand the values too but they serve as a way to drain energy and philosofical thinking aswell, taking advantage over those people's suffering. We really need more true involvement and care with each other and our reality, not embelishment and stuff disguising irresponsibility. Keep it up!

I mean you really can't just watch that and go on with your day! That's their intention and I'm glad that you went with it as much as you did. I'd watch you do a whole thing on musical activism too. Awwwright!

It physically hurts to watch this video because of all the horrible stuff that is happening to our world and the fact that the big corporations who are mainly responsible for this are actually protected by governments. The feeling of being powerless is just overwhelming. It's so saddening and disgusting.

In the outro of the song one thing that I hear and really like is the snare drum, if you listen closely you can hear the drummer alternates from hitting the snare and, I believe, hitting the snare and rim causing a "POP", then a "POP" with a metallic echo, could be done with effects also, but either way it's a little hook at the end of the song for me. Awesome video!

Many bands write and perform for good causes, but it is fairly rare that someone takes it to the level that Gojira has here - they have been and still are in direct contact, working with the tribes, they are divulging and fundraising for the amazon and for the people that need it, they are teaming up with tons of other amazing bands to contribute, riling up the troops, etc. They are not only calling to the listener to make a difference like a lot of bands do, they are leading the charge as individuals. That's why this is so sick. Thank you for working toward getting this unblocked, and congrats on succeeding.

There’s fire in the sky You’re in the Amazon The greatest miracle Is burning to the ground! Love this song! Even though it sinks my heart 😥 It does however reaffirm my mission to restore and preserve native prairie & wetlands on the family land I grew up on in south east South Dakota, USA. The American tall grass prairies have been over 99% destroyed and restoring & preserving this tiny 200 acre remnant is merely a speck in something that once spanned over many millions of acres. The fact the Amazon is heading the way of the American prairies is heartbreaking. Also enjoy your breakdown videos, keep it up!

Very clever that the chorus we remember is "the greatest miracle, is burning to the ground". Very hard and sad to forget every time you listen that the Amazon dies more every day. Very smart activism through music and subliminal messages.
