I love that goal he has though, retire after becoming the champion. He can explore other areas of life, do other things he loves, and not risk his health or brain in fighting. Its a great goal, achieves greatness and is safer

People talk so much shit when fighters talk about retirement, they start going on about fighters being scared so they retire early. But these same people complaining would never fight professionally and at the high level of competition ufc and other fighting promotions have. A lot of these athletes train their life out just to make some money and feed their families. Most people would be happy with a one off big pay day and feel like they don’t need to work another day in life if they’re already financially set for the rest of their lives. Let these fighters do what they please

let's get back to that, when/if he beats burns. if he dominates burns and usman beat edwardsa nad then chimaev gets the belt and tries adesnaya, all that within let's say 4-5 fights, he's the goat?? cuzz usman and izzy are p4p 1 and 2, that's an accomplishment

@@SmeshBros yeah if he beats burns he should get the next title shot at usman. If he beats usman immediately move up to vs izzy for his belt. If he wins again then that solidifies him as number 1 pound for pound greatest to accomplish so much in such a short period of time. Beating the best wrestler in the ufc then the best striker? Chimaev can retire in 3 fights if he can pull this off!

Chechnya and Dagestan is a part of Russia... Nobody is talking about their ethnicity...there are about 140 ethnicities in Russia... He has Russian roots too and I think chechens and other citizens of Russia are proud of his skills.

Maybe that's why he didn't define it, so he could change it. If he tells his mother 'let me win 1 belt', he can't avoid keeping the promise, but #1 can mean anything

You only need to defend it once to be considered a true champion by most fans. Defending it 10 or more times simply puts you in an elite, potential Goat category of its own. First challenge is winning the belt to begin with.
