If you ask any fighter of same time and same weight, they will always keep themself up. It's about self-confidence and self-respect. But he do really show respect to Shavkat.

“I had ONE bad knockout in training, thinking I was sparring just another pro & that guy turns out to be Zabit back in February 2017. Dude is a nightmare even if you’re fully prepared, I didn't know who the fu(k he was… The guy is an f*cking ninja… Comes out throwing all these Sidekicks, Hook kicks, Then 2nd round he throws a 360 round kick… I didn't go out, BUT was definitely fu(ked up. I didn't see it coming, & it landed flush….it's on video, it's pretty nasty… Hopefully, Mark Henry leaves that in the archives!” -- Aljamain “Funk Master” Sterling

2:55 "kidding, surely habib" this guy is so fucking humble, thats why 99% of dagestan fighters are so good, they respect each others like brothers, habib always said rule number 1 is respect gym. They have no ego, just pure respect and love for the sport.

Great interview. Zabit is the man. So talented in the octagon. He always had entertaining matches. I believe he retired too soon, he would have been champion by now. Wish him all the best in his life.

Shavkat will get KO'd by Chimaev. Ahavkat's fight with Geoff Neal was terrible. His chin was exposed the whole fight and he took a lot of shots to the head from Neal. Shavkat was lucky he didn't get KO'd.

I think Khamzat would win if they ever fought. But only because of how effective wrestling is at shutting down stand up offense. Shavkat wins the striking battle any day of the week. But in mma you need some ground game and takedown defense or the high level guys will eat you for breakfast

Khamzat is a bit too overconfident for me to think he would win against Rakhmonov. On one side you have Chimaev, who is often not very mindful of his opponents ability, and rushes face first into damage. We saw this with Burnes. Chimaev has an innate ability to smother and dominate his opponent, but in the process he neglects to defend himself. Whereas Rakhmonov is a far more mindful fighter. His defensive game is top tier, and his ability to slip a punch is just as good as his ability to land one. He’s dangerous, I think he’s be ESPECIALLY dangerous for Khamzat. Chimaevs tendency to try and rush an outcome or finish would get him in a lot of heat against Rakhmonov in my opinion. And I really don’t think it would go Khamzats way in the fight between the two. Rakhmonov really likes striking, and seems to have become quite proficient at it. His stand up defense is kinda crazy, and his counters and very accurate and pretty powerful to top it. We’ve seen him take minimal damage while dealing maximum damage, finishing 15 guys in pretty brutal fashion. Thing is, Khamzat likes to finish fights quick. Shavkat likes to take his time. And Skavkats ability to hang in there for round after round while maintaining his energy and composure is very impressive. He fights multiple rounds and doesn’t slow down. Whereas Khamzat was very visibly gassed by the second round with Gilbert Burnes. He expends energy too quickly trying to rush a finish. And going against actually higher ranked and higher skilled fighters with that approach will get him in trouble. We’ve seen Khamzat get rocked and wobbled because of this approach. And I have never, not once, seen Shavkat get wobbled. Only thing I can think of where Khamzat might have an advantage is wrestling. That being said, Shavkat has very good ground game and is able to escape from ground control very proficiently. We’ve seen him manage to keep fights with pretty proficient wrestlers standing. I really don’t think Khamzat could beat Shavkat, I really don’t. And for that reason, I would REALLY like to see them fight.
