I just want my depression to go away. I was diagnosed my sophomore year of high school. Although I know it’s not good for me, I hold on to the person I used to be. Fun fact: my profile picture is from that year. I remember the satisfaction of getting good grades and being engaged in the classroom. I felt like I was thriving. I ended up with Straight A’s that year. Things changed that Summer and everything went downhill. I started to sleep more. I felt the disappointment from others and myself. I feel bright but not motivated. School had become a struggle. I started having issues with memory. It made it really hard to remember any class readings. I ended up failing English class and taking the course during the summer. That summer, I noticed that it took me longer to complete the course but I was lucky that it was self-paced. The physical symptoms just make it worse. I have changed my mindset and that makes me feel much better about myself but, learning, which I enjoy, seems almost impossible. I am now heading into college. I have no idea about what I want to be. I don’t even know what I like. Maybe I have such a low interest in myself. The bright side is that I’m going to community college for free on a choir scholarship. I am so thankful and excited to be a part of the choir. Like I said before, I really don’t want to be depressed anymore - and I imagine many that suffer from it also feel this way - because I have good years ahead of me. I need to feel in control. -Andrew ♥️

You'll beat it brother, Pray. If it looks like it's getting worse for some reason you could always check with a decent psychiatrist who isn't very heavy-handed on drugs.

Wow!! This is so true!! I still go through this at times, but not as bad as before. On medication that works this time. In a much better place these days!! The overwhelming pain was so intense. I didn’t want to take a shower, go out side just getting dressed was a task. I was 200 lbs. went down to 172lbs didn’t want to eat. Didn’t want to be around anyone. Wanting to end my life. I tried twice. OMG!! Just overthinking all of the time. The negative thoughts overwhelming. It was like I was trapped in my mind. Never though I would ever get to the other side. It’s like I was falling down a deep dark hole with no end. Was totally drained of all energy. I had to give up my apartment and move in with my daughter. I was hopeless. Such a bad place to be. Wanting to give up each and every day. My blood pressure was 195 over 92. I had to check myself into a mental hospital. People always ask me how are you doing. I lied and say that I’m fine thank you. I was far from being ok. To me my life was over. Each and every day was a struggle. Thank God for my wonderful daughter. She was like daddy you need help and fast. She made me check myself into a mental hospital. I was there for a month. If you never suffered from mental illness you would never understand the pain. Please get help. Do not give up!

Why don't psychiatrist explain this? I literally have had multiple labels but no diagnosis until about a year ago, but right before my Dr. Moved he tells me he does not think I I have what he diagnosed me with. However they put me on medicine that I feel I should have a diagnosis for or don't prescribe me the medicine at all! I get why some people don't know they have a mental illness,but it's not true for every single illness. Someone with depression knows it and completely understands something isn't right. I am frustrated with mental health doctors.

Hello! Multiple pharms can be prescribed to various different types of psychiatric disorders. It is very difficult to diagnose a psychiatric disorder at first. Psychiatrists tend to "test" which pharms are more efficient for each pathology or not. If he thought that his diagnosis was not right it was because he saw that the pharm was not doing enough effect, or because you showed other traits of another type of disorder that could manifest later on with time. For example my younger brother took over a year do be diagnosed by the best pediatric psychiatrist in my country. At first we (the family) tought it was the normal teenage changes when he started having very different behaviours. Then the Dr. thought he was obsessive compulsive, and later schizo-affective, but when he finally saw that anti-psychotics didnt helped, he was then treated with valproate, and he reacted extremely well, so he was finally diagnosed as a bipolar. I really hope your drs get to the correct diagnosis. Be patient because it takes a long time and a lot of trial and errors for pharms to get there :(

Psychiatric disorders are difficult to diagnose. The problem with depression is that it rarely comes alone, meaning it may be a part of some other mental illness or a person is experiencing it because he has some different mental illness. Fixing depression may not fix the problem a patient is having, so finding the core cause of depression is necessary to begin cognitive behavioral therapy.

My classes were very good throughout primary and secondary school. My mother used to help me with my studies. I was also a popular kid at school. In the 5th grade, my mother got sick. and he stopped helping me with my studies. I was very upset. but I continued until the middle school exam. I couldn't study at all in my exam year and went to a bad high school. I lost my self-confidence. I was trembling and very quiet when talking to people. Then the covid virus entered and 2took years. I started 11th grade when covid ended. For 1 year, I just studied without speaking to anyone. I was successful in my studies. but now I'm in 12th grade and I can't do anything about the lesson. I think my life is out of my hands. and I feel so alone. please help mewhat do i have???

"What does the Bible say about depression? How can a Christian overcome depression?" Answer: Depression is a widespread condition, affecting millions of people, Christians and non-Christians alike. Those suffering from depression can experience intense feelings of sadness, anger, hopelessness, fatigue, and a variety of other symptoms. They may begin to feel useless and even suicidal, losing interest in things and people that they once enjoyed. Depression is often triggered by life circumstances, such as a loss of job, death of a loved one, divorce, or psychological problems such as abuse or low self-esteem. The Bible tells us to be filled with joy and praise (Philippians 4:4; Romans 15:11), so God apparently intends for us all to live joyful lives. This is not easy for someone suffering from situational depression, but it can be remedied through God's gifts of prayer, Bible study and application, support groups, fellowship among believers, confession, forgiveness, and counseling. We must make the conscious effort to not be absorbed in ourselves, but to turn our efforts outward. Feelings of depression can often be solved when those suffering with depression move the focus from themselves to Christ and others. Clinical depression is a physical condition that must be diagnosed by a physician. It may not be caused by unfortunate life circumstances, nor can the symptoms be alleviated by one's own will. Contrary to what some in the Christian community believe, clinical depression is not always caused by sin. Depression can sometimes be caused by a physical disorder that needs to be treated with medication and/or counseling. Of course, God is able to cure any disease or disorder. However, in some cases, seeing a doctor for depression is no different than seeing a doctor for an injury. There are some things that those who suffer from depression can do to alleviate their anxiety. They should make sure that they are staying in the Word, even when they do not feel like it. Emotions can lead us astray, but God's Word stands firm and unchanging. We must maintain strong faith in God and hold even more tightly to Him when we undergo trials and temptations. The Bible tells us that God will never allow temptations into our lives that are too much for us to handle (1 Corinthians 10:13). Although being depressed is not a sin, one is still accountable for the response to the affliction, including getting the professional help that is needed. “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess his name” (Hebrews 13:15).

Listened to the above lecture. Leave your philosophy at the door. By this I mean people who do not believe in gay marriage may not be prejudiced as you imply. Perhaps their religious, social and culture attitudes has been strengthened by traditional thinking along to road to maturation. With 98% of Americans married to the opposite sex are you implying they are all prejudiced?
@Occupiedmarkus
@Occupiedmarkus 8 жыл бұрын
+Mark Davis i think what she is saying is that some people with depression are prone to homosexual prejudices, their internal perception may have conflicted with their family members perception on homosexuality, which caused them to struggle and negative thoughts and stuffs derived from it. It does not necessarily mean they are prejudiced. don't get too offended, chill~

+Mark Davis i mean, gay marriage was only legalized very recently so. it'd make sense that most marriages are opposite sex. I don't know where that stat is but whatever you're quoting doesn't make sense and neither does your argument. %98 of Americans aren't even married so thats just nonsense. People can be straight without being prejudice to LGTQ people, and yes if you do not believe in gay marriage, you are prejudice against gays, simply because you believe they don't deserve the same rights as you, regardless of your religion or culture.
