I grew up with this being played in the house. My sister - an avid pianist - was constantly practicing this piece on the boudoir grand in the lounge. Day in, day out. I have no musical talent, but know this by heart. I've never heard it played so magnificently.

Liszt was an absolute maniac, and Ms. Buniatishvili does absolute justice to the madness. What beauty, what skill, what grace! She is an absolute joy to watch and listen to.

Well, that, and she also tarts herself out like a cheap-a** hooker. Ah, but a child prodigy. What a clown. So embarrassing. Kudos to the musicians who take exception to her "act". This is a battlefront in culture, just look at all the clowning CD covers with all that, for 30 years+ It goes far in disgracing the genre. Many in the field are collaborators in that without knowing it, lacking any credible maturity. A standing ovation to those who dare to shun her. They should have booked.....

I almost didn’t like this performance, until I contemplated, in the true spirit of Liszt, this is all about spontaneity and and the mastery of spontaneity. Then I came to the conclusion, Liszt would be delighted with this performance.

Most modern interpretations do go for the slow, romantic, draw you in effect which I do prefer too but good point Liszt was about theatrics in whatever way he could so in that spirit this was fantastic.

Not much doubt of that, IMO. And let's not forget that Liszt used his own sexual magnetism as an important part of his own performance persona. He drove women nuts.

Ça ne vous regarde pas la façon qu’elle est vêtue. Je pourrais penser que vous pratiquez une religion qui traite la femme comme un chien et encore pire dans certains cas. Ceux qui travaillent sur leurs personnes pour devenir de meilleures personnes n’ont pas de jugement à faire sur les autres , car ils ont compris que personne n’est parfait et ils n’ont pas de temps à perdre pour leur propre salut. I feel the same. Watching Khatia is like a spiritual journey. She captures every living being she is playing for. You could hear a pin drop when she lifts her hands for the first note. She is one of the greatest pianists living today in my opinion.

I find all the thirsty men with conservative tastes on here hilarious, but I will admit that she's amazing-- indeed, way way under-appreciated because of her musical genre. I think she figured something out about how elite pop stars present themselves, and folded that right back into classical music. She has all the swagger of a Mick Jagger or Taylor Swift, but with stunning virtuosity.

Brought back memories of Texaco Star Theater (Milton Berle) TV show in the early 50s. At commercials, three guys in gas station uniforms, came out and sang “Sky Chief. Khatia, you are one of the world's greatest pianists. Brava! You are a goddess of the ivories. ONe can see and hear how you feel every note and the space between notes, moving onwards courageously through each piece, which is something perhaps pianists are taught not to do. YOur playing seems to come from some sublime universe summoning all that mind and heart can offer. YOu come from a country replete with cultural masters of film and art, Kalatozov, “Rezo”, Abuladze, Mikheil Chiaureli that portray a unique, earthen point-of-view. Clearly you are a world cultural treasure that will shine evermore.

Came for the dress, stayed for the playing, one of the most brilliant musicians on the planet. Girls rock, and this girl is no flashy picture, the difficulty of this level of professionalism is shared by only a few. Definitely my fave. Make sure you hear her play Debussy. Her interpretation is how God intended it to be.

Wildly brilliant and impassioned. I saw her perform Rachmaninoff once live at a local performance a few years ago and I can still hear those notes ringing in my mind. Can't wait to see where she goes from here.
