Not a “original” Nirvana song. It’s a nearly 100 year old song originally recorded by blues man Leadbelly.

Not bad at all. I still prefer Nirvana’s version and the original by Leadbelly. This version doesn’t seem to capture the haunting atmosphere of those versions.

Leadbelly isn't the original artist of the song. Look it up on Wikipedia. Leadbelly's version is a "cover".

2.5 minutes of acoustic 'introduction' type stuff is a long time to wait for a minute and a half of the heaviosity. I get it though. If you're trying to be arty farty, that is. I prefer how the Thrash bands did and do it for about 30 - 40 seconds, to juxtapose the heavyology to follow. I am a loooong time Metal fan and I have not the patience for this. I'm not sure, even, Pallbearer would release something that's as horologically vampiric as this but I don't claim to speak for them, so I could be wrong. Hard pass. Shout-out to youtube for the double-tap skip function. Thanks.

Well this is a cover of a folk song from the 1920's so i think it's pretty appropriate. It's not about being artsy fartsy ffs.

@@SDMF20 If you say so but the band chooses how they want to cover the song and the original versions wouldn't have had electric guitars of any description. 2.5 minutes of slow boring acoustic followed by 1.5 minutes of heavy distortion, does not, a song, that will stand up to repeated listenings, make. Original comment stands.
