- 1/8 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 Green Chilli (chopped)
- Salt
- Papad Soda (Alkaline Soda)
- 1 cup Rice Flour
- 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)
- Oil
- Pickle Masala Powder

I'm gujarati ... Nd in this original recipe ... We don't add turmeric and coriander . Otherwise , all is fine.

It's not called soda. It is called paapad khaar. The khaar word comes from probably the word kshaar which means alkaline...

Actually there are many traditional Gujarati recipes that don’t have besan or sugar. Look into handvo, dhokla (not khaman), debhra, vati dal na vada etc

In Rajasthan they call it as hajiyo! In rajasthan they make hajiyo using wheat flour instead of rice flour..... Khiju with wheat is more tasty

In Rajasthan they called it Kheech,made with wheat flour.. in my house it was called baniya's food and they never made it at home.i used to enjoy it at my friend's place anyway and was trolled by my siblings and cousins for liking kheech 😅😅😅😂 also was called Gujarati for adding sugar in my daal😅😅😅...finally I end up marrying a south Indian...now I make all enjoy khatta meetha daal,and rice ,ragi,wheat,bajra all kind of khichus😅😅😅😅

रूचि no doubt your recipes are awesome. But this "Khichu" is" one pot meal ". When you finish mixing rice flour put रोटी tava underneath, let it simmer for 10 minutes. You use so many pot's and pan's for , such a simple recipe. Please save water.
