Interesting fact, the Asian man that trains him also appears in the underappreciated JCVD film Knock Off, though he only has a small role in that one. Good reminder about mind over matter. Something we all need to be reminded of.

Watched this movie EVERYDAY for at least a year. A family friend gave me his copy when I was about 10 years old and my mother still hasn't forgiven him because she was so sick of that movie. Haven't bought a physical movie in over 5 years but when I saw this I couldn't resist. "Your girl, good f*#k" - Tong Po

I love Kickboxer. Was the first JCVD film I saw on VHS. Found Bloodsport later, so KB has got plenty of nostalgia for me. Spot on review, cheesy acting and music but bags of fun. 4k with some extras (a commentary perhaps from the man himself?) would be wonderful. Love the channel!

Thank you Dan for the comment and the kind regards. I have only seen this one once before…a long while back when I was younger. I really did enjoy and again - it needs a 4k!! Lionsgate should make that happen…

@@ungraduatedmedia the golden age of action really, when Schwarzenegger, Van Damme etc were knocking out pics every 6-12 months (or so it seemed at the time!!) Arnie had that whole run of terminator, commando, red heat, raw deal, predator, the running man, T2, and JCVD with Bloodsport, KB, Cyborg, Hard Target, Death Warrant, AWOL/Lionheart, Double Impact, Universal Soldier, seems incredible now thinking back

@@dannycalifornia1300- yeah they definitely don’t do it like they used to…Hollywood has always been a unique beast of a business but it most certainly isn’t that way anymore. Kinda like the NFL and when players used to play for one team and their whole career because they loved playing there and wanted to win for that city…those days are also long gone lol

@@ungraduatedmedia you’re not wrong, I’m going to sound old, but it was just more fun, there seemed to be much more personality in the NFL, not the sterile (comparatively) polished professionalism that we have now (s few exceptions aside) and if ever we were in need of fun, it’s now more than ever
