Kicking a Tenant to the Curb

  Рет қаралды 190,218

The People's Court

The People's Court

Күн бұрын

The plaintiff says he was in a bad relationship and had to get out fast, so he rented a room from the defendant. He says the defendant had strict rules and kicked him out after only a few months and filed a restraining order even though he did nothing wrong. He’s suing for rent and security back. The plaintiff says the defendant has a potty mouth, used profanity in front of his 10-year-old daughter, and even threatened him. He’s countersuing for additional security, extortion, and emotional distress.

@@arcaderat1613 Thank you! Freedom of Speech was originally included in the First Amendment to protect our right to express opinions without government restraint. That's it. These days, the lawyers in black dresses have widened that right to include even harmful things like pornography, and the dumbed-down general public believes that they have a right to scream foul language whenever & wherever they want....and if you don't like your children being subjected to that, tough because "freedom of speech". Ben Franklin was right. Our system of govt only worked until our society became so corrupt that we now need (and most people demand) despotic govt.

Yep! You don’t have freedom of speech in someone’s private home. If he’s renting from him, he has to follow the rules or get evicted. Most of the time landlords don’t even have to have a reason to evict.

i mean it just depends on the person. 2 people similar "like that" would get a long fine. i don't think the other guy was all the innocent either. I've had some really shitty roommates that made me feel like i was the one who shouldn't have roommates. then i found a good roommate. my case for example is i don't like dealing with drunk people. i would even tell people before they move in if they drink to much i would respect them more if they don't move in. they say they good this and that. move in and boom drunk every day. bottles piled high. bathroom smells of vomit and alcohol daily. so bad i run outside and throw up myself. sticky floors every where. next thing you know you feel like you are over bearing. sometimes it's just the people. not one single person. but both. i get the shoes thing too. shoes are loud and shoes are dirty. if someone really wants to wear shoes in the house they shouldn't live with someone who doesn't like shoes in the house. it's not one persons fault. you live with the right person there doesn't need to be rules. you live with the wrong person then surely there will be conflict

If you have that nice and clean of a house, with children that stay part time, you should really think about upping your income instead of taking in roommates. I wouldn’t want some stranger in my home especially if I had a young daughter there part time. Floors can be cleaned, but the safety of a child is priority.

I get not swearing in front of kids but how about not renting a room to a stranger with a little girl living there? To me, that’s negligent and if I was the girls mother, I’d lose it.

The way that so many people use vulgar words in front of anyone, and everyone is horrible. It shows a lack of knowledge for language, and lack of respect for other people.

what is wrong with learning about transgender people? Same for sex, etc. There is so much violence on TV and in the news so why not learn about love, love making/sex and people who love the same sex?

Yeah. We’re mirrors. The energy we’re in is what we attract. One or the other seems like an angry person so, he attracted an angry roommate.

It not "freedom of speech" it's that cursing isn't a legal reason to be evicted.

I know some people like that, an Irish sailor talk, can't keep his mouth shut around certain people. "Personality disorder" is an apt description. There is an adage for these people which is why he has a 'slave mentality', well-dressed he was, "You are a master of words unspoken, a slave of words spoken".

My roommate from hell story - My buddy's dad found out that I was moving out of my parent's house. He offered to pay two months rent if I took his son as a room mate. I smiled at him and told him 'nice try.' Haven't ever had a roommate and it's wonderful. The extra money I've paid over the years has been a good investment.

It’s a good investment in your sanity. I lived with roommates from 18 to 36 , after the first year I didn’t have them i kicked myself for not doing it sooner even though I had the income to do so.
