The poster on the wall behind the Warning is for a one day fest in Mexico in 2017 called the Mother of all rockfests. They were the opening band of the day. A few months before the fest the promoters had an announcement party which the Warning performed at, a picture of each band was put on the big screen and the Warning played a shortened version of a hit from each band, Tesla, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Motley crue and Alice Cooper were some of the bands they covered at the announcement show.

Dany was born to be a rockstar.

The first two were awesome as was The Warning. But a big thing to notice is that the first two appeared to be studio recordings that they did an OMV on top of. The Warning was 100% live.

Yes! Young Ale was awesome - uninhibited, singing with abandon! Somewhere between 15 and 16 y.o. she evolved into cool, reserved, slightly aloof Ale, barely opening her mouth when she sings. It seems like she is loosening up and singing with more gusto in the last year or so; which is great to hear and see.

At least Pau had the good sense to keep her shirt on. Bonus points. I don't care if they didn't finish the song. They're just more fun to watch and listen to no matter if they're playing or just talking.

And as usual The Warning nails the song even an abbreviated version. Just remember that Dany, Pau, and Ale were still really young at the point of recording this. Which makes it even more impressive. Have not heard of the other bands doing this cover. Good covers from them as well except for the second vocalist(blonde).

The brunette in the second band is Daria Zaritskaya from NoApology, a Ukranian band. She also put out some covers with NoApology's guitarist as Sershen&Zritskaya.

Not that I complain about today's cool Ale, but in those years she was in a fierce stage that is so fun to watch. This was a nice one! 🤘🤘

Dany doesn't have a talk box and i believe this is the reason they stopped before the solo. The Warning was 100% live, 3 girls in a basement only with their talent and nothing more, something that i cant tell for the other bands. That's why i prefer The Warning cover over the others

Of the three bands you haven't really heard of, First to Eleven/Halocene/Nopology, I'm guessing you might like Nopology with the brunette singing. Got no suggestions for originals from them. All three seem to do a lot of covers. As for The Warning, this was part of a series of shortened covers they did as part of a concert announcement event where they played short bits of songs from the various bands that would appear at the Mother of All Rock concert in 2017, poster of which is on the back wall of the Cave above Pau. The Warning opened that concert which took place in their hometown.

Ale has some great smirks and sneers! The audio engineer from the Mayday documentary gave me the distinct impression that her eye rolls were next level. His stated opinion was that "Ale is the most reserved but, in a way, the most expressive."

What's most noteworthy to me is that The Warning did their covers when they were young, before they REALLY got going as a band with their own stuff. For fun and practice, no frills, no gimmicks, no production. F211 and Halocene even more so, make their entire identity being cover bands and turn it to the max. I'll always take actual creativity over perfect covers.

The first 2 bands that is a professional and sound engineer and produced track not a a true representation of the cover if played live . It’s a literal edited and corrected studio release .

No dispute with your final ranking, but let’s not forget that Dany was the only one singing and playing guitar, and Ale was half the age of the other bands’ musicians. It’s a shame that F211 which is just a cover band, has twice the KZfaq followers as TW, but they have been around longer. 😎👍

Daria the "much hotter one" is from Noapology, they changed the name a while back so people can say and spell it. I highly recommend checking out an original from Noapology - Deadhearted Obviously The Warning gets my vote but the Halocene/Daria and F211 are close.

The Warning!! 🔥 🤘 Abreveated version of a number of songs/artists that were playing the Mother of all rock festival.

Here's a little background info to The Warning: At that time, they had just been screwed big time by their former manager and their dad had decided to give up his well-payed job as a civil engineer to become their full-time manager in order to be able to protect them a little better from the industry. He hired a company called "Creative Dreams" to take care of their digital media and the company's CEO, Rudy Joffroy, became their marketing manager. Luckily, Creative Dreams was also hired to promote a festival called "Mother of All Rockfest" and Rudy thought: "Oh, so I'll have to promote a rock festival and a rock band? Let's create some synergy!" So he persuaded the organizers of the festival to invite TW as the opening band and he also organized a line-up relelease parte event for the press, where they not just "revealed" the line-up, but had TW play a short cover version of a song from each band (e.g. Walk this Way by Aerosmith, Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard, School's Out by Alice Cooper and (you guessed it...) Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe). This is, how this cover was born. After that, Rudy bugged the manager of Def Leppard to give TW the opening slot for their concerts in Mexico. So without it being his job, Rudy did exactly, what their dad hoped a band-manager would do, so they negotiated and Rudy and him became co-managers. The rest is history. I waited to see all three covers and here it goes. The first band I didn’t like the drummer (being a drummer myself) the vocals were layered because there was only one singer and more than likely layered guitars. The second band did a better job the drummer amazing the guitars were definitely layered as well as the vocals. Both of these bands without major backing tracks will never sound right live. I will go with the warning because they can bring this live with what you saw there was no layering

"Oversinging" or Churching it Up, never serves the song. It only brings attention to one singing, which is never good. Its one thing Im glad to say The Warning never does. Its always about the song

Hey Rob , i just saw a cover of Painkiller by Judas Priest by Lovebites. May be good for a cover corner. To see a japanese band do such a great cover was interesting.

I'm pretty sure that the group that came in 2nd only had one guitar player and they showed him playing both guitar and bass. Very talented. After hearing the first 2, I didn't think The Warning had a chance, but Dany came through with amazing vocals and the band sounded great. I don't think Dany has shown that she can play a "fast" solo yet. Her rifts are amazing and Z and QOTMS are great but it showed when they were at Shiprocked that her impromptu solo was slower. I'll be interested to see how it goes in Japan.

FT11 is Not live, way overproduced, which as some of you may know is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Holocene singers voice hurts my ears. What ever they were trying to do with the stylized (Blonde) singer didn't work, the men understood the assignment. Ahh! The Warning.... the Purple hair days. Dany can sell a song like no one else! Ale, with bass line and rhythm and backing vocals. Pau, I've never seen her twirl her sticks, just play in perfect rhythm. Motley Crue is playing their own song, how could they lose? I was unaware of the circumstances that brought about The Warning learning this song, until I read the explanation by NoSmokingDogs below. I know you will understand, also, when you do! Because I love your reactions, I will accept Your verdict!

YOU LIVE IN A FUCKING DESERT! My least favorite was Motley Crew. I'll give it to the Warning because they were very young... it wasn't produced in any way and they were not really trying just having fun.

I hate Mötley Crüe - especially now. but that's another story. I'm a fan of First to Eleven - they do a huge amount of covers releasing about 1 a week over the last 4 or so years. As a lover of covers, I find small nuances/changes to their renditions (and sometimes large ones) - currently my favorite KZfaq cover band followed very closely by Pomplamoose. I liked them. Halocene are a little hit and miss for me (and has performed with Ft11 on some collaboration tracks). I didn't really care much for this either. The Warning - yeah, and you're right on a couple of things. Not a straight cover (which they could easily do since they started with covers), Ale was awesome (and trying to find her place within herself - her persona). And and that's a great call on Dany resembling, in some shots, Lauren Cohan when she played Maggie on TWD - I can definitely see that. I get the whole 'cutting at half time' thing but I still really enjoyed this version. Mötley Crüe - hate - nuff said😂 I like Cover Corner Rob Cheers from Oz mate 🦘

I know im a The Warning fan The Warning just sounded better for me . . I think when Dany is playing and singing she somhow transfers her playing style into her voice . . Its like the grunt she uses playing comes out in her voice . The other 2 bands did well tho the second band with the 2 ladys singing was like chalk and cheese voice wise . . The brunette great voice . . Is she in that band or bought in from another ?? . . If she is from another band id love to hear them . .. And as far as Motley Crue go we . . I don't have much to disagree with your rankings. Though I would have still put The Warning above FT11. And I am actually a FT11 fan, I just don't think this song suites Audra's voice. They do some amazing covers, but her voice and style isn't suited to grittier stuff. She's better at covering GNR, Ozzy, and Metallica. FYI they have a really fun video of 'I Was Made For Lovin You' Yeah, The Warning cut it short, but they were also the only ones doing it live and unedited. And you nailed exactly why I don't listen to Helocene.

Halocene I know, I know NoApology from where Daria comes too. I have followed her for a long time and she is a very good singer. I am like you, I don´t approve of the blond either. On second place I have to put Halocene, but it´s only because of Daria and of course the guys who make a good impression. They deliver a song which I am well acquainted with, and they do it with raw passion. There is no raw passion in the other two, it´s not laid back. The Warning is not an act. Any way, these cover reactions are quite fun, they give you a perspective on music.

Without doubt, the guys, they are rocking💥. The First To Eleven guys were even better than Mötley Crue. But Audra Miller was too "clean", too clear, too nice and "girl-ish" in her vocals. Even the young Dany had more of the dark aggressive Rock feeling. The First To Eleven version was the best COPY of Vince Neil. Vocal similarities. His vocal performance was too mechanical clean too. As next: Halocene with Daria. Why they collaborate is a mystery to me. Addie Nicole already counteracted Daria Zaritskaya on "I Was Made For Lovin' You". The Warning are my favourite. In someone else's song they were THEMSELVES. Authentical and proud. Not to forget, the real winner are THE SWEET. "Hell Raiser" (1973).

Have you given Mick Mars' new album a listen? It's about as non-Crue as you can get. I would go as far as to say it kicks ass.

First to Eleven was good . Only thing for me was her voice was really dry in the mix. The second band was excellent. Not a fan of the first singer. Instead of just rocking there was too much "pop" creeping in where they have to hit every note in the chord. She would make a great back up singer.
