Don't even worry about not catching the future sight, that one got a lot of people. Even those of us who are caught up in the manga. It wasn't the clearest visual but the misdirect made it more intense. Shanks is considered a master of haki. No one else could have done that Wi-Fi haki, for instance, so him having that powerful of future site is within character. The hallucination after was an interesting touch. Toei did well with this one. Kid - he's not weak, but he's foolish and cocky. And now waterlogged. Next week isn't going to be as intense as this one but it's still not going to slow down.

I remember a comparison I saw when this first came out in the manga. There was a comparison between Usopp back in Sabaody Island when they faced Kizaru that was about to kill Zoro. Usopp, even though he can't hit or do anything about Kizaru still managed to stand up againts him and fired his shots, while Kid's crew only begged for their captain's life. This is how you know how great the difference is between Luffy's crew and Kid's crew.

The big difference with Luffy and Kid is Luffy will never ask his crew to die with him to reach his dreams. Kid did and got a bit cocky so this is good for his growth to get humbled before he continues his journey if he and his crew is still alive.

They didn't show it in the anime, but in Shank's sight of the future, the people hit by Kid's Damned Punk were eviscerated. They were bisected and appeared to be disintegrating. I think we underestimate the strength of Damned Punk only because our first time seeing it hit someone, that person happened to be one of the tankiest people in the verse. Big Mom was truly built different.
