I played this at my oldest son's funeral. It was his favorite. Everyone cried...and I mean everyone. All his friends and my family. My grandmother asked, "what happened to Amazing Grace". LOL Told her that this song meant much more to my son.

I think this about the time he started transitioning from what he had been doing earlier to what we see him doing today. People give him a hard time about doing country etc. But to me it was an absolutely brilliant move, because he saw the writing on the wall. He knew he had to grow as an artist or slowly fade away. He is much, much smarter than many people give him credit for. A much more talented guy than I thought he was at first that's for sure. Now I have nothing but the utmost respect for him.

My nephew passed away yesterday. He was only 38 years old. This is the last song he posted on Facebook. He played a Dime bag Darrell flying V. My life will never be the same again. I’m blown away that he sang this as well as he did in this video. That is better than it sounds on the album. A lot of great singers would chock on some of those notes or not hit them quite right. He straight up killed it. I always heard Kid Rock was great live and this is proof. Amazing job. Good music is good music.

I Love the live Rock im Park concert video as Kid Rock sings. It makes me actually cry sometimes, because I can relate to the pain he's feeling in the song. I cannot relate all of it, however, because I'm not famous, a star, or a man. But, I wanted to escape my pain, I've searched for love, that I've never found. I do also feel that people don't understand the things that I say and do, or everything that I've just been through. And, I keep trying, and sometimes there doesn't feel like a point to it, (except for my son), but sometimes I want to give up, and I keep going, and only G-D knows why. I do know that I don't go to the river, and give up, because of my son.

He has slowed down on the drugs now I think. Thank God I made it home from Nam & for getting my life together at 38. Take care all and if you are into drugs think about when you are going to quit. I lost my 39 year old Baby girl Jan. 4th 2016 to breast cancer & Brothers & Sisters Nam was a walk in the park compared to losing her. My wife has had 2 strokes since then and in a wheel chair now. I love these live versions that prove KR does not need the auto-tune sound to sound great. Sure he does not have the absolute perfect voice of a Chris Martin or something but it is damn good with or without auto-tune. The effect is a part of the song not a part of the singer.
