I'd totally forgotten about Tom and Jerry Kids until I heard that opening theme and then the memories flooded back. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!

In 84' I was 12 but I watched cartoons for a much longer time than most of my friends, I'm sure. Hearing the music really brings me back. Especially Looney Tunes. Reminds me of sitting on the living room floor with a bunch of Barbie's while watching as much as I could before the TV was turned off. Now, I share 80's cartoons with my grandchildren.

That’s some fantastic grandparenting! 😃 gotta keep these shows alive with future generations. Looney Tunes is another one of the comfort shows for me, great stuff.

Muppet Babies, Tom & Jerry Kids, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, and Yo Yogi are shows that I loved growing up. I never saw The Flintstone Kids, The New Archies, or Pink Panther & Sons though, as those three didn't air in reruns here in Canada in the 90's. The funny thing is is that A Pup Named Scooby-Doo aired in reruns in 1997 and 1998 when we got our own cartoon centric TV channel, Teletoon. Also Tom & Jerry Kids was still on in reruns here in 1994 as I have a tape of episodes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from early 1994 (late first season) and there's a commercial for Tom & Jerry Kids during one of the episodes.

That’s so interesting. It’s always cool to hear about how these shows ran in various parts of the country and the world. I think many of these had re-runs well into the 90s here in the states too. Thanks for watching, happy Saturday!

@@TheCassettePhase Yeah, where I am we're close enough to the U.S. to pick up ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX on cable when I was a kid, but for things like The WB/Kids WB, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel, we had to have a satellite dish to pick up those channels. We still got some of the shows from those channels on our channels here, but we didn't get those channels. Happy Saturday to you too!

I’ve always thought about this concept of “sequel” or “spin-off”. The other thing I think about is when live action movies have a “sequel” in the “city”: Home Alone 2 Babe 2 Pig in the city (I’m sure there’s plenty I’m forgetting) On a side note.. I think Baby Rowlf sounds like Nelson Muntz from the Simpsons.
@TheCassettePhase

Yes! Movie sequels often took the same characters and stories just to another location haha. And he DOES sound like Nelson!
