My struggle meal was either pickles and mayonnaise sandwiches or dipping slices of bread in ketchup. As a side note, Aldi brand sodas actually aren't bad

Juice jugs yup I used to get them from Western beef in the Bronx We still have 50¢ soda and $1 sandwiches also 99¢ Arizona juices. I miss getting candy 4 for 25¢ or bag of chips being 25¢ No seriously at Payless I really wanted the knee high converse but I couldn't because my damn feet kept growing. By the time I got to middle school I was a size 8 in women. I'm 23 5'7 qmd my feet are a size 12 in woman I was a size 14 in middle school and now I'm 18/20 XX1/1X All the stuff y'all mentioned are so true I'm from Queens,NY but yeah I could never afford Aero pastel or GAP

I can't find the box Ice Cream any more it's kind of sad but yo, I'll tell you a secret about the box ice cream no one that I've ever talked to know. The reason the box looked like it did and had those side tabs was because you were supposed to open it all the way open and slice off a square like cake. Crazy right, I didn't find this out until 2022 long after the box had gone extinct so I can't even test this, it just sits there occupying a small corner of my mind that also houses the fact Chinese take away boxes are meant to fold out into plates.

Only problem I got with Aldis is their bread. That shit get stale in a single day. Dollar tree candy be a no go however recently I found me some mint chocolate cookies THEY WERE BUSSIN. I think i'm becoming like my grandma. That's why I'm not having any kids because I don't want here anything about getting their shoes for 30$ or below. Ain't no way i'm spending over 90$ for some shit that you wear on your feet.

Our struggle? Get your own. My mother would have us forage. Usual ended up with dry "Oat-O's". We have Aldi, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Save-A-Lot....its not exactly ritzy around here. Cheap K-Mart shoes. No cable. No NES, SEGA...yes I'm old. We had a rotary phone until the early 90s. My grandma cut our hair. Hell even some years made our clothes. I'm not making this up. Pennsylvania Poor.
