Fancy Feast kitten wet food made one of my cats throw up. I just kept switching foods until I found one they both could eat. Then the other one got sick. Even Hill's sensitive stomach dry food made her sick. I now feed them homemade, which is not popular around here. But they are both healthy and no more throwing up. All cats are different. Have you taken your kitten to a vet? There are foods with limited ingredients and others with unique proteins. Good luck.

@@edschulhof6303 yes I ride, breed and in the process of learning how to train/back Arabians. I have never heard of that program definitely will take a look!

Kitten food is probably the easiest to deal with since there’s so many good ones. I would stick with the more popular brands. I’ve really not seen bad nutrient levels I. Kitten foods. Once Adult, then it becomes more critical.

@@ZaryaTheLaikaholy cow! As typical for food companies now, that might be a bit overkill, but the point is more moderate protein for cats is optimal.

@@PetFoodPuzzleGuy Yeah, what Uri Burstyn said about maintaining muscle mass reminds me of Danielle Conway on All-Star Veterinary Clinic's Roundtable podcast explaining why she prefers Royal Canin's research setting upper limit of 60% protein over Hill's research setting upper limit at 45%. Then ah, everything clicked in after looking at the protein content of each of the renal support products.

@@ZaryaTheLaika In the USA, three of those four contain carrageenan. Carrageenan is a known carcinogen and a genotoxin. So to fight kidney disease, we are going to give our cats cancer and cause seizures. Got it. Carrageenan is banned in the EU and Australia.

@tj, based on my experience and what the doc said, statistically your cat is at higher risk of age related disease like renal disease at age 7 or 8. So that would be a great time.

All my labs contain SDMA now and any running idexx is probably the same so there is a good chance if you consent to yearly wellness labs your getting an SDMA . It’s pretty standard now, I even do it on my in clinic labs starting about a month ago.
