This kid-friendly cooking video shows recipients of the Kids Cook Farm to School Meal Kits how to make “Easy Cornbread” with local ingredients including New York State cornmeal from Farmer Ground Flour, and Upstate Farms milk and yogurt. Lockport City School District is a recipient of the USDA Farm to School grant for the 2020-2021 school year.

Easy Cornbread Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup cornmeal
1 ¼ cup flour
½ cup sugar
1 Tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
½ cup vanilla yogurt
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Spray 8"x 8" pan with baking spray or use napkin dipped in oil to lightly coat pan.
2. In medium bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
3. Add yogurt , oil, and milk and stir together. Whoa, there. Don't overmix it.
4. Scrape batter into your pan and bake for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
