Kids of Degrassi Street panel at Degrassi Palooza 2019

At Degrassi Palooza we had a tribute panel to The Kids of Degrassi Street for the 40th Anniversary of the shows. What a legacy left behind by co-creator Kit Hood and we continue to honour him. This would be Kit's last public speaking panel before his passing in January of 2020.

Although this was originally only going to be used as an Audio Podcast the coverage by the single camera was really well done so you can enjoy seeing the faces of the fans in the room.

This is great. Thanks for this. This is great insight into the experience of actors such as Lisa who played minor characters and what they got out of being involved for so many years. Brilliant. 😀

At 2:55 when they're talking about The Kids of Degrassi Street Easter eggs in Degrassi Jr High if you watch the episode Twenty Bucks there is a scene where there is an announcement over the P.A. system that says "Will Martin Schlegel come to the principals office." Martin Schlegel was a character on The Kids of Degrassi Street.

His character name was Duke. No wonder the producer was confused. David James was the actor.

I want to know what happened to Noel from kids of degrassi street. Also what happened to Rick in degrassi junior high. I also think it’s sad that Billy of kids of degrassi street didn’t get to be involved in degrassi junior high like he should have. His character was gone so fast.

I can answer that. Peter Duckworth Pilkington ll aka Noel left acting and works in the private sector, Craig Driscoll aka Rick also left acting and became a tattoo artist moving around a lot and is currently living in Rome, he claims he never really got along with the cast but had a thing for Stacie Mistysyn aka Caitlin. Tyson Talbot aka Billy did one episode of DJH which was the swimming competition one, I'm not sure what he did after that because there isn't much about him available but I did find this,On November 30, 2002, he was arrested in Toronto and charged with second degree murder for the beating death of a restaurant patron Christopher Shelton. He was acquitted on all charges on June 4, 2004 on the grounds of self-defense.
