Kielburger brothers grilled by ethics committee over WE Charity scandal

Kate Bahen, managing director at Charity Intelligence Canada, told CBC's Power and Politics: 'This is not for the ethics committee; this is for a court of law.'

Good point! The cbsa has no problem interviewing people separately at secondary inspection! These guys need the same questioning!

Their (the Kielburgers) contempt for the Canadian public is unparalleled and entirely opaque. It is matched only in magnitude, perhaps, by our own prime minister's contempt.

Why the HELL is the government even involved in charity? Spend our TAX DOLLARS on things that make a difference to most of us, the medical system and our infrastructure.

Because its not a Charity. Its a program that accomplishes two VERY import goals. 1) It funnels public money into the hands of Liberals and close friends ("speaking fees", bribes, commissions, and of course ME to WE) 2) WE started out with good intentions, but the Liberals high-jacked it to now act as a training grounds for teens to embrace Liberal ideology....future Liberal voters.

The Kielburgers own about $50,000,000 in real estate and other holdings. Shouldn't a charity give that money to those that need it instead of keeping it for themselves? Sort of reminds me of the Notre Dame church in France that caught fire some years ago. People were asked for donations when the Vatican, as rich as they are, should have paid for the damages.

While on the note of WE, I can't tell you for sure. I think the Vatican's issue is that all that money they collect goes to keeping up their incredibly expensive architecture. You're not wrong though, the Vatican, Just like WE, isn't very good at revealing their financials to the public.

Notre Dame is owned by the state of France, not the church. It hasn't been owned by the church since the French Revolution, over two centuries ago.

A great idea initially. What a fiasco in the end. Young people get the short end of the stick and everyone involved is angry at each other and the Canadian public is left to come to terms with what we are hearing and wondering how could all this go so horribly wrong! My head hurts!
