I don't think you even know what "the bill" is... "The bill" is something that gives more power to the police. It has some good aspects (longer prison time is great, let the pedophiles and murderers rot), but what people are rightfully upset about is that if the police (and more likely those who pull their strings) decide they don't like a protest they can silence the protest. The excuse will be that if they determine the protest to be a "public nuisance" then it is okay to outright stop the protest. If you fail to see how it prevents people from standing up for what they believe in (irrespective of whether you agree with it), and allows opinions that oppose the majority to be silenced, then you should not be having this discussion. I am happily at work, so no I am not one of these protesters, I have bills (pun not intended) to pay. I do believe revoking freedom of assembly will become an issue as a result of this bill passing (assuming it does pass). So no people are not asking for anarchy and for the police to go away, you must be on a new level of brainwashed if that's your takeaway. Honestly you could Google this...
