Mike Postley RIGHT! Back when you couldn’t pay anybody to play mellophone. SWAC bands used to have 6 at most and 40 trumpets 😂. Times have changed

I attended this game. It was too cold FOR ME to stick around for the 5th. HOWEVER, I walked back 2 miles to my hotel and could hear the battle pretty clear for about 1.25 miles. Overall impressed by both bands.

Your exactly right, it been a year or so since these videos have been posted, SOD popularity has skyrocketed. There viewership on KZfaq and the various social media networks are closing in on 30 millions views. The only other band that trails them is ASU Hornets with a little over 6 millions views on their best videos. The underdogs Sounds of Dynamites and The GGs has become the HBCU show band of the national and international community of HBCU band fans. Its not about the loud music anymore and JSU and SU has found themselves seeking an answer to the Sounds of Dynamites popularity growing With there highly skilled dancers and well arranged music, the Sounds of Dynamites performing at the Braves football game, and halftime show, will keep them at the top of the HBCUs marching bands community for sometimes. JSU and SU alumnies characters assassination of the Sounds of Dynamites and The GGs is a joke. Playing loud want work with this generation, the music has to be arranged to accommodate the dancers routines and they're not doing that. That why there viewership ranking is low low, people wants to sing, rap, and dance along with the band and that's what the Sounds of Dynamites and The GGs brings to the stadium.

The main thing that separated these two bands in this battle was tone quality... being in person at the game starting on jsu side then switching to asu side jackson sound is just more pure and mature even up close you don’t get many splatty tones and across the field the sound is unexplainably clear vs with alcorn even though they are cleaning it up, their sound has more maturing to do both bands still sounded amazing and better than most these other bands could ever sound (JUST MY OPINION)

JSU's sound is more crisp and polished and they play their songs better, but I liked Corn's song selections better. They even played Closed on Sunday, which was cool. I did enjoy Boom's second to last last slow song though. That was like listening to a mastered song on a track. Boom with the slight W.

I have watched this about 3 times (I ain’t got nothing to do) and it’s not close in my opinion..alcorn sounds good but they just aren’t on JSU’s level. If you are gonna start the 5th with Torture it has to go hard otherwise I’m gonna be like “why did they play that?” And that’s how I felt after listening to it. Their overall performance started strong but then kinda fell off to me, kinda like previous years. JSU had power and sound on their side yesterday. And anybody saying “all JSU got is tubas” is clearly not being honest. I’m still not a big fan of some of JSU’s arrangements and that’s really the only reason why I would pick SU over them

B FRESH bruh we the most hated band in the SWAC cause they know they gotta contend with us every year. We ain't no hoes, can't be pushed over and they can't stand it. Every noticed that they talk about us but we couldn't care less about them. They try to find every excuse in the world as to why we can't be good. They be like "JSU don't have this, they got too many of that, they not loud enough, now they too loud, they not balanced". But somehow someway the band keeps getting accolades.
