J H The chances of that being true are very slim, that man, and the police all grooming the same child 🤔 🧐🤨 not only that but if higher authority had EVEN A SUSPICION of even ONE police officer doing so there would be an investigation NOT ONLY on him but on the entire police station AS A WHOLE. ✌🏼

Thatll be a completely separate investigation which could take years, when dealing with teenage grooming victims the main evidence is victim statements but they are often convinced they have a 'real' relationship, and also don't want to face that they have been harmed so deny anything happened cause its a lot to process. It's incredibly hard to prove that kind of case unless you find photos or video.

i am convinced the mom is involved or at least knows more than she let on. she let sexual abuse go on at home, plus handed out leaflets for takeouts when the local takeouts were involved in a grooming ring? in addition, the way she talks about charlene doesn't sound quite right, and she's been proven to be okay with violence by stabbing her husband (which obviously doesn't mean she herself killed charlene, but does mean she might not have been opposed to someone else killing charlene).

I know Charlene must've been getting groomed (something her mother allowed) based on the PlayBoy bunny logo on her t-shirt. When I was young, I had that logo saved on my computer (not knowing what it was) and got into huge trouble by my father. Yet her mother lets her walk around in that attire and the only other young person I know who wore clothes with the PlayBoy bunny logo ended up as a teen mom.

My daughter is 13 and her and her friends all wear playboy/ bunny stuff, it’s just a trend. I was all upset about it at first, but then realized they wear it because it’s a trend just like people who wear misfits but don’t even listen to the misfits…. They also all wear band shirts of bands they don’t even listen to, like nirvana, blink 182, etc.

Even if it was a runaway case, the story should be run. A child was missing. It does not matter why. That made me very pissed off.
@DarkAngel71180
@DarkAngel71180 5 жыл бұрын
Ginger Hernandez Unfortunately, the media isn't interested in runaway cases because thats not what sells. Murder, sex scandals and major crimes are whats considered 'newsworthy.' Further, even though she's a child, the police are not going to use valuable and limited resources looking for someone they think doesn't even want to be found. If it came down to her and a missing 4 year old, they're going to look for the 4 year old. The older you get, the less of a priority you are. Its a shame, but its reality.

Yes! Even if a child is a runaway that means they should try even harder to find them and let it go out in everyway to spread that this child is at risk and may be alive but in danger. Too many monsters out there take advantage of such kids and have horrible intentions for "helping" them runaway. Laws need to change where a runaway is seen as being at very high risk and in a dangerous situation and needs to be brought home or just taken into somewhere safe if the family is found to be not a safe place for the child. I wonder how many kids have been lost and forgotten because of such things and their killers have gotten away with it.

Also, many cases with ‘runaways’ or ‘missing children’ don’t get shown if the family’s on the poorer side, it’s sad but true.
@angrybunnies9664

Devi but it was the police who told the news not to run the story, and maybe it's different in the UK, but in the US, a minor is a missing person whether they ran away, got themselves lost, or were abducted. My point is if a person is not of age and they are not where they are supposed to be, they are probably in danger and need to be found.

Money talks if people have money they have more publicity if they go missing. 2 little boys went missing in yorkshire around 1996 they was put on milk cartons but the police had not much to go on. Two young boys aged 11 and 13 years old was they kidnapped and raped by pervert pedophilie just bring these young boys home again so their families can have them or bury them i think they was murdered long long time ago. They need to come home to their families so the families can see them and give them a decent send of they deserve. Pedophilies was about then like they have always been ever since people come on this earth perverts and pedophilies are about. Lots of little girls and boys gone missing home and abroad some of them have never been mentioned its not fair on them or their families. We need to donate or put more money into the system so these kids what ever happened to them can one day come home and rest i dont think they will be found alive by now i think they been murdered or had some kind of accident and bodies buried somewhere. I hope one day all these little kids and young people will be brought home to rest and have a good decent burial with friends and family. Its what they all deserve no child should not be have a place of rest there are kids out there who have gone missing presumed dead for 30 plus years its a lot more then people think to.

When i was idk under a year till 3 years old i was put to live with cousins and her husband was suspected pedophile like my dad had the gut feeling this guy was so. And i was in a way in fostercare but my grandmother was getting money from it and she also stuck my brothers with some rando family members that cant care for shit. They wanted to keep me and my dad wanted custody back. Like i have some memory but they had to get eyed on since i wasn't their biological kid and there was a custody battle and my dad had red flags from the guy even more so since i was obviously being coached for the cousin's favor in winning by making me lothe my dad and i was messed up. Now i have some memory but its a flash and sped up and it triggers alters and knowing the kinds i have i know the memories arent fake. Now they had people keeping an eye on them cause custody case so they had many times to be alterted or suspect something. But i was there for 2 to 3 years and with the mental issues i have now i know bad shit happened and im 16 years old now and i want the guy to suffer but i cant remember his name i know the last names and the cousin's name but i cant remember h i s name. I looked back to try and use my cousin to find him but when i felt like i was getting so close to gettibg a lead to him to even know if he was alive or croaked cause he physcially was far from healthy so i wouldn't be surprised. I was close but i was getting overwhelmingly bad feelings like it would all be that much more real and id find something worse. Now again they had surveillance my dad had bad feelings on them they coached me visibly like i was exhausted. He even aggravated my dad to lash out like the guy was cheating on my cousin its sketch when they are so adamant on keeping a kid that was lated to a woman they dont care about ever. There was so much on him and yet the judge wante dme to stay with the family because my dad was my dad he was a guy yet he's my biological father so he makes sense the other didn't. Honestly if my dad didnt win custody i have no clue what might have happened to me but all i can guess is it would have been bad. Fostercare and social case whatever are pretty shit and when they start supporting and trying to get the bad guy to win they should be as liable as the kilker when the kid ends up dead cause if there is so much evidence the guy is bad but they still try to have him win then they are just an accomplice in my eyes

This whole case is a train wreck that gets progressively worse as it continues, the police are incompetent, her parents are disgusting, and the two men aren't innocent. And at the end of the day, Charlene and any other possible victims didn't get justice. How do you not think to have new outlets report a missing girl, runaway or not, a missing child is a missing child. Or investigate the family properly. Or even just communicate with the family. How can you as a parent sexually abuse and groom your child, let convicted sex offenders into your home, and then not think that hey, maybe one of them had something to do with your daughter disappearing. How do social services not removed a child deemed "vulnerable of sexual exploitation" at the age of 11 or after you find out sexual offenders visit the house regularly. And how are these men still walking the streets. they can't prove it was Charlene. Okay, clearly they did still cut up and sell someone. Just because it wasn't Charlene doesn't mean they didn't do it. And it's clear they that have a bit of a reputation for this behavior. (At least one of them) This entire case just leaves you feeling frustrated. It's literally like not a single person knew how to do their job correctly out side of the potential killer. I almost hope that Charlene did run away to live out a better life.

Yeah same here so do i but in reality i know she may have been kidnapped and killed either by someone she knew or probably by her parents her parents let in a known sex offender inside their property that is asking for trouble. I dont even know if he killed her because she knew to much and wanted to tell but couldnt because it was to late. I do think her parents knew what happened but arent letting on what they knew some parents do kill their own children children are usually killed by people they known or loved. When i think of blackpool i think of this after watching the documentary i do think to myself what strange parents you wouldnt let a pedophilie and sex offender any where near children never mind living with you inside your home no normal parents would do that. They put their children in great danger and the social services and police should have been involved here those kids should have been taken away immediately put into care home or foster home. I dont understand why the parents wasnt questioned more by the police

The family had the children in care while living in the midlands. They were warned many times about convicted sex offenders visiting the home and in some cases stying overnight. Pinterest files have some very disturbing allegations made against the parents and grandmother. They did a runner to blackpool in 1999 at the same time as Robert Ewing (killer of Paige Chivers), a man from Hereford who payed Charlene money for a sex act on the day of her disappearance and Nigel Lloyd who was a sexoffender questioned about her disappearance.

Her parents are so busy blaming an entire religion of people, when in reality, THEY failed her FIRST. They endangered her first. They neglected her safety and well-being first. That sort of childhood trauma can lead to many other tragic events. If she wasn't being exploited in her home as early as age 11, I don't think she would have fell victim to the grooming ring. I think she would have sensed danger or told someone about it. But, she had been exposed to that type of violation early on and probably normalized it in her mind (which is so heartbreaking). She didn't deserve this and she didn't deserve to be failed and violated by so many people.
@70spoem
@70spoem 5 жыл бұрын
she was a child. children are easily manipulated and any child could've fallen victim to grooming ring regardless of their background and family situation. and the whole "she would've told someone" is invalid, since even adults often times don't come forward for fear of not being believed etc. her parents are trash for allowing sex offenders to hang around their daughter but they weren't the ones who killed her.

@@70spoem So, you don't think her parents' poor judgment couldn't possibly have affected the course of her life? You're very naive. Of course, any child can fall victim to a predator. I did when I was 5 and didn't tell anyone, despite being raised in a loving home. But, there is also a major possibility that had she been raised in an environment that didn't endanger her well-being, she may have been able to understand, at 14, that what was happening wasn't right. Some kids tell, some kids don't. But, in her case, you can't say definitively that she even fully understood that she was a victim, because of her past experiences.

@@70spoem she was sexually abused because her parents repeatedly brought convicted sexual offenders into the house! They sold their child's body time and time again. Emily if you look at the missing kids uk website. 99% of those missing children are either foreign trafficked children or children missing with one of their parents who have lost custody. Very rarely do we actually have a long term missing child that cannot be explained. Most children return within days. The McCanns had a lot of ties with people high up like Gordon brown, who were able to pull strings and get their daughters disappearance into the limelight. It’s very hard to get support for your children for the simplest of things like speech therapy or suitable schooling and sadly however unfair it seems, those who shout the loudest get heard.

I've seen articles and interviews with Charlene's mother over the past few days especially and she is totally right about what she said about the comparison of the Madeline McCann case and her daughter's. I can't help but wonder if she had been from a higher social class, whether this case would be solved by now. It must be so hard for her family to see all the money that has been poured into the McCanns search and so little into theirs, the publicity their case received when Charlene's case received so little. I really hope they get the answers they deserve X

The police there don’t want to solve this case. I can see politics being injected into this and distracting everyone including the police. A wire tap, a brother turning his own family member in and these men still committing crimes of a sexual nature and nothing gets done. I wonder why🤔

There’s so little evidence in this case against those men. But how their friends acted during the trial is suspect. But also, the mom acts all righteous when I would be floored if she didn’t know or have an idea about the sexual abuse situation. And oh my word, the police work is sloppy. There’s no telling what happened to this poor girl. Maybe one day we will figure it out but I don’t believe the theory that the street merchants Sweeney Todd’d the girl.

I was living in Blackpool at the time, I was the same age as Charlene Downs. The general consensus among everyone I knew was that even if the body in the kebab meat wasn’t Charlene, it was still true that a girl had been murdered and her body put into a meat grinder. Obviously after all this the shop (Funny Boyz - so called because it was directly opposite a club called Funny Girls) was temporarily closed and reopened under new management.

Missing children cases always upset me. As someone who was nearly abducted as a child from my own garden, it makes me sick to learn what happened to these kids and know that it could have happened to me. Even now, 10 years later, I can’t go into my own garden alone. One case that has always got to me, is a case of a young girl who went missing close to where I live back in the 70s. Her name was Christine Markham and the last people to definitely see her alive were her brothers. They said he saw her walking away from the bus, towards home, but despite last being seen at around 7:30 in the morning, she wasn’t reported missing for 14 hours. There were plenty of ‘sightings’ of her all over Scunthorpe, but nothing concrete. 30/40 years later and the case is still cold.

I 1000% believe the mom was involved in this: I don’t know how, but I strongly feel she is involved. The way she kept talking about spilling the coffee in her lap and how animated she was with her “emotions”, and then finding out she was letting her daughter who went missing, get sexually abused in her own home. I’d put every dollar I have on the fact that her “mother” knows what happened or had a part in either the murder, or the coverup/disposal of the body. How does a mom allow her daughter to go through that awful bullshit?! Absolutely disgusting. There are so many people that need to be in jail for the sex crimes that went on in that town, and they’re all just out roaming free. Sounds like cops are getting a little bit of hush money.

I live in Blackpool and have all my life, today my mum brought up Charlene and explained her story to me hence why I’m watching this. I’d heard about it before but never in so much detail. Round here if you ask anyone the main thing most people would first say - apart from the way she died- is her genuinely disgusting home life and her (supposedly) being sold for sex by her farther to his friend when he was drunk. On top of this he regularly beat her at home and her mother never helped. The whole case is simply off, the police handled it poorly and the whole grooming circle should’ve been recognized earlier which could’ve prevented so many horrendous events from falling into place.
