Yes. When there's a hole in the cell a queen came out. If not she got killed by another queen that hatched right before her.

There's a lot of dubious information out there about these bees. First of all, the guy in Ohio that was stung 20,000 times? All the news stories say he was stung while trimming a lemon tree. Here's the thing. Lemon trees don't GROW in Ohio. Not even close. Entemologists say these bees will not spread naturally and persist north of 36 degrees north. They can be found in isolated areas north of that, but can't survive the winter there.

Lemon tree? You are right. It wasn't a lemon tree. They don't grow there. It was a 100 foot tree. Also they retracted the 20K stings. It was 2K or 3K. Still WAT too many. These bees have been found it Alberta and Ontario though.

@@KillerBeeGuy I did a deep dive, and apparently, the mother wrote the phrase "cut off a lemon" on the gofundme page... it was obviosuly a typographical error (probably auto-correct) from the phrasing you could see she meant to write "cut off a limb". And these news outlets juset ran with that, even though the sentence didn't really make sense. As many eyes that looked at these news stories, and nobody said "Wait a minute! Lemons don't grow in Ohio!" ? It makes me wonder if people are really that ignorant. This is the kind of crap that makes people not trust the media. I've ran into people that don't know that potatoes grow under the ground.
