The way I handled one nest that was outside in the ground is I waited until night. Poured gas and lit it! KABOOM!! No more killer bees

As someone who found out at a very young age that they are deathly allergic to bees and wasp of all kinds this is a nightmare

A scary bed to sleep in, yest a thought. Im so glad that we dont have those. I would like to have the nordic bee but there are the bees of the community so even if I buy a nordic mated queen it wont be only nordic because her daughters will mate later with those drones. 1,5swedish mile from here. More of the nordic but not single. There are Crainer monuntainbee and the italian too. Hard if you dont live far away from others. Still gentle but not pure single, but a mix. The nordic arent so many now.

I'm curious, has anyone figured out the average number of bees to a square foot of comb? You've got the queen for the entire hive, so that would leave the drones and worker bees.

what happens to the stragglers left flying around? do they just dissipate? go off and make new hives? wicked little beasts.

Africanized Bees are not the same as your normal honey bees. These aren't your typical western, italian, carniolan or european bees. They're not the same kind of bees that you see on your favorite bee-keeping channel that are incredibly docile and gentle. Their temperament is impossible to control, and they're a massive risk to have in a residential neighborhood like this. There's no other solution here except eradication. The problem is how fast they set off and how the entire hive will mobilize once that alarm pheromone is in the air, and it takes very little usually. What a nightmare to deal with. Hope it turned out for the best.

I wouldn’t buy that cold you sprayed insecticide on it but I know you wouldn’t sell that to people. You guys seem like good people and you do your community service and we can thank you for that service even though I live in Hershey Pennsylvania.

Errr.... Mr. KBG; Try setting a bathtub filled with OJ (NOT 'The Juice') diluted with oil and walk away. Several days later, go back and see the result. If the hive is accessible, a tripod, bowl of veg. oil immixed with fruit juice and time/lapse cameras would be interesting Oh!!! Thanks for all the fucking swearies! My 6Y.O. daughter has sooo many new friends. Dunno why.....
