The true televised beginnings are Angelina Jordan at Norway Got Talent in 2014, when she was 7/8 (you need to listen to all 4 songs) and there’s also a bunch of songs between there and this song, Put A Spell On You. She’s a complete musical prodigy. She grew leaps and bounds, month after month. From what I understand, she’s not from a musical family. She has a grandmother, Mery Zamani, who is an artistic prodigy. None of the musicians you see on the screen are related to her, but they do call her “boss”.

Many people hearing Angelina for the first time think that her talent derives from family influence. The reality is that she picked up a toy microphone at age 18 months and started singing Whitney Houston with no help or training from anybody. Think Mozart-level prodigy for vocal.

She has artists in her family. Specifically her Grandmother, but no musicians. She started listening to Jazz at 1 or 2 years old at her Grandparents and just started mimicking it at 1.5 to 2 years old. She did go to a music and arts themed high school when it was apparent that this was her direction.

This video is not the start of Angelina's recording journey. She is nine year's old here and had already won Norway's Got Talent having entered that competition when seven years old and had just lost one of her front baby teeth. That video shows Angelina singing Gloomy Sunday with wild black hair and missing a front tooth. She recorded her first song when she was six in English. Bear in mind that she is a Norwegian national with one of her grandmothers being Iranian, one of her grandfathers being Japanese, and there is also some Swedish in her linerage. So English is definitely not her first language although many Nordic folk seem to have a better grasp of the English language than a large percentage of Americans.

Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with the same band at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. There are English subtitles as the spoken language is Norwegian: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iaebjadyvbClZHk.html - CORRECTION - It appears that the English Subtitled version is no longer available -here is the non-subtitled version - even though the spoken language is Norwegian you can still understand the dynamics of how Angelina comminates with the band: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bpaWZtdkydOmkp8.html

Angelian finally signed with Republic Records as a specially promoted artist. She has 100% artistic control. Her uncle Mike is her manager and her video producer is her grandmother whose jazz collection Angelina grew up singing along with. There is video of Angelina singing Whitney Houston at 2 1/2 and in her TAG school's recording studio at age six performing Tom Jones. She met a girl her age on a trip to her grandmother's homeland, Iran, who was on the street weighing people with a scale trying to feed her family. Angelina, talking to her, noticed she had no shoes and her feet were calloused and scarred. Angelina took off her favorite shoes and gave them to the girl and the girl said she would pray for Angelina's musical success. She is the youngest published author in Norway and her book relates this story. Angelina vowed to always perform barefoot until all children in the world have shoes. She has raised millions for children's charities. She has performed before heads of state, kings, queens, and at Quincy Jones birthday part at O2 in London. He said she is the biggest talent he's seen since Michael Jackson whose music he produced. She only performed charity concerts until she finished school and now has begun the professional phase of her career. Choose a famous artist from the past, any genre, and Angelina has covered them as well as many contempory artists. Her covers respect the original artist but there is a tiny 'Angelina' twist that make them hers.

Her grandmother was a child prodigy as a poet and artist. Angelina really started singing at about 18 mths old. From what I read, she told her mom she wanted to be a superstar when she was 3. Her first recording studio (that I know of) was at 6 yrs old. She sang "I Who Have Nothing". It was amazing, but during the intermissions of her singing, she was just an excited kid. It was so cute. So here at 9 yrs. old, she has been singing over half her life. At 17, she is getting ready to really go public. She sang at the FIFA awards show in March in Paris. She has a single getting ready to come out any day now and an album release scheduled for later this year. She won Norway's got talent when she was 8 and was on AGT when she was 13.

They are all professional musicians in the video and they are not her relatives. She has worked with professional musicians since she was 7 years old. Some musicians call her "the boss" because the arrangements are her own and she is "in charge" of the whole thing. She had some great live performances already at 7-8 years old (for example "What A Difference A Day Makes") and at 12 years old she could sing very low notes (A2 or even lower I think..) in a very solid way. At 10 years old (2016) she sang "Feeling Good" in the Norwegian tv-show and that is a masterful performance. You should check that out. In 2017 and in 2018 she had really great live concerts in Norway. She is absolutely in her "own zone" when she sings on stage. It's really impressing. I don't know any other singer who is like her.

The Norwegian barefoot princess now living in LA is the best young female vocalist we have today - Now 17 years old. Angelina sings better than already established world stars. No one can stop Angelina from becoming a world star. That's just how it is! Her first album will be released in 2023 with Republic Records. Over the years, she will become a legend for the great moments in the world. She has plenty of time. Remember she is just 17 tears old, which we forget when we see her perform. Republic Records who should also be praised for appreciating this unique talent. The world watches music artists full of platics, digital effects, and sex-focused music videos. Angelina will soon blow up some scales for people to look at music as the art it was meant to be. No one dares to just sing the way she does in todays industri, without any amount of sound makeup to mention. Over the years, she will become a legend for the great moments in the world. She has plenty of time. Remember she is just 17 tears old, which we forget when we see her perform. Republic Records who should also be praised for appreciating this unique talent. She signed with "Republic Records" just at age 14.

I am not sure there has ever been a vocal prodigy like Angelina before... I think she was born with an unusual voice - she had coaches but they were asked not to do anything to affect the unusual quality of her voice - plus this incredible musicality (she arranges all her own music - including this one ) and love/affinity for jazz, which she fell in love with when she was about 3... And, as you will discover if you find out more about her, she is a quite incredibly wonderful person.

Welcome to Angelina's world. She is an extraordinary young artist with over 180 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 17 which is her current age. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 and has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance. Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium, and Seoul South Korea with 40,000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. At the age of 17, she is a seasoned performer with 11 years of recording and performing. She is at her best in front of a live band and an audience. Many of her live performances when she was 10, 11, and 12 years old blow away even the original adult performers of the songs she sings. She is definitely worth your time to experience and get to know. She has covered Sinatra, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Queen, Miley Cyrus, Patsy Cline, James Brown, Lana Del Rey, Norah Jones, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Screamin Jay Hawkins, and many more. She signed with Republic Records when she was 14 and has been working on new original music while she completes high school which will be this year. She has announced that her first commercially released album with Republic will drop this fall at which time RR will begin their full scale promotion of Angelina as an artist. I expect her career to take off like a rocket as soon as she is introduced commercially to the world. Here is a sampling of my top favorites of hers that cover a variety of genres and ages. Angelina made this arrangement herself. The original song by Screaming Jay Hawkins is astounding, and yet she made it her own. She made her own arrangement of an absolute classic, Bohemian Rhapsody, a real scary song to sing for anybody who even thinks of covering it. And the surviving Queen members were so impressed they allowed her to trademark her version that she sang on AGT The Champions. In terms of her career, her career is longer going backwards than forwards. It's probably best if you check out her AGT Bohemian Rhapsody, and then go backwards to her beginnings with the 4 songs she sang in Norway's Got Talent. The improvement you will find from one performance to the next is mind blowing. Including her English diction (hard to believe that English is not her first language!). Angelina's character is also amazing as she's one super kind human being.

What you will soon realize is that Angelina today at 17 Angelina is already the best Jazz singer on the Planet! IMO Soon to be one of the Best Vocalists of All Time. ♥👣👸🏻 Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sonny & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. Shortly after winning she was designated a National Treasure by the Norwegian people. ♥👣👸🏻 There is video of Angelina recorded by her mother Sarah Astar singing a couple of lines of "I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston when she was 18 months old. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with Japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru KZfaq of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own. Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. Angelina has said singing to her is as important to her as breathing. ♥👣👸🏻 She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Accompanied by most often a simple guitar or piano her performances are always incredible. Add a band or even a full orchestra as in her performance for Quincy Jones at his request singing his arrangement of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. The same arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra. This opened for his 85th birthday celebration at the 02 Arena in London. ♥👣👸🏻 She is well known worldwide in the industry. Her family and Angelina have been holding back turning down many of the biggest in the industry while she finishes school. Remember she just turned 17 January 10th. They finally signed with Republic Records about three years ago after getting a deal that gave her control of her artistic vision and has since released 2 originals, 'Million Miles' & '7th Heaven' plus a soundtrack for the New Movie "The Hating Game" which opens with her song 'Mercy' performed most notably by Duffy. Republic has labeled her their Highest Priority and assigned a team to her including Rob Christy a multiple Grammy Winner, often on the piano in many of her performances and a whole team of equally qualified professionals. She has worked with some of the best musicians in the industry and always get exactly what she wants. They call her the Boss and have immense respect for her. She is due to release her 1st album promised by Angelin to be soon. She has been diligently perfecting her craft since winning Norway's Got Talent singing all over the world, Germany, Japan, Korea as well as TV appearances such as The View, Little Big Shots and most notably America's Got Talent where she premiered her Iconic Performance of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which Queen gave her the rights to record her own version available on ITunes and Spotify included on her Album 'Magic' which she released on her own along with a Christmas Song collection. She didn't win AGT because she would not sign with Simon. IMO. She has also sung for Many Heads of State including Barack Obama and a couple of songs opening for Norah Jones in Korea. She also sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8 yrs old for Malala and another recipient. Mostly she has sung for charities helping raise millions for children charities and climate change. The great part is that most of it has been well documented often by herself and her family. Her Grandmother who introduced her to Jazz at 3 & 4 yrs old is behind the camera more than anyone else. Norway proclaimed her a National Treasure shortly after she won NGT. Love the reactions. Get ready for a deep dive. She is worth it! Love from the Land of Vikings here in mid-Minnesota USA wherein lies a huge proud Norwegian population. ♥👣👸🏻

The girl with a thousand voices will blow you away again and again-in completely different genres. Angelina is just an amazing combination of musical elements and talents. Her innate musicality is off the charts. She is a natural jazz and blues singer. She is a musician who does her own arrangements (like this one). She has truly incredible vocal skills that you saw partially displayed here. And most of all, though you might not know it from this song, she has a voice for the ages-deep, resonant, mesmerizing, beautifully textured. Your comment about her tone and vocal depth for this song-well, I just have to say your assumptions were not correct. When Angelina chooses a song, she puts great thought into the genre and the original singer. Her vocal dynamics here-rasp, growl, belts, depth of tone, etc.-are paying homage to the genre. Yes, she can do old school blues or jazz, authentically, at 9. She did it at 7. She’s the best child singer you’ve ever heard, and she has gotten better every year. Buckle up for the best singer you have ever heard.

Great reaction to a vocal tour-de-force! Yeah..no music in her family but her grandma is a world-famous artist who introduced Angelina to jazz at ~1yo. You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library. It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). If you really want to get blown away, try listening to her when she was six years old that’s one year before Norway has talent, singing the song (I who have nothing). Also try to listen to “feeling good” when she was 10 years old. That America’s got talent when she was 13 years old, singing, Bohemian Rhapsody, then your truly get an idea how good she really is.

My thoughts on this performance. I love this performance so much. As they say AJ don't play. We get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Decades and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Anyone who discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point. Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will always be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! And she is just 17 years old... That is unfathomable. She has already established her proficiency and incredible work ethic in this endeavor guided by an incredible family and professional support now surrounding her. You just watched a Masterpiece! Destined to go down in Music History as the best performance by a 9 yr old, Period! Past, present & dare I say Future! I'd like to see anyone, young or old who can do a cover of this & with the justice it deserves as Angelina has done on every cover she does. ♥👣👸🏻

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZfaq. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and Swedish. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot: At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 6 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway, including being named a national treasure, and her videos on KZfaq went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. A 9 years and 2 months old, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZfaq video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT that contractually bound her to Simon or AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZfaq. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZfaq, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”. In April 2021, her original "7th Heaven" was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina performed concerts scheduled in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life in more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music. Well, so much for you to know but first of all, "Welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan!" Lots of her fan base members (her 'angels') will be sending you data (playlists and bio's) about her and I strongly suggest you read the comments to get an idea of what she's all about. I'll just skirt around a couple of issues which you might enjoy hearing. She first gained international recognition when she entered Norway's Got Talent at 7 years old. She sang 4 songs and you have to check them out. There is no one in her family who has had a history of being involved in the music industry. However, she does have a grandma who was also a child prodigy and she is still today a renown painter and poet. When Angelina was very young (in early grade school) her family knew she loved to sing to people and thought it was necessary to enroll her in a special class to learn the ins and outs of music and learn how to sing. One day the teachers asked her mom to come to school so they could have a little chat with her. They told her mom that it was okay if they continued to teach her about music but that it would be a waste of time to teach her how to sing. They told mom, even at her very young age she could qualify as a singing instructor! We call her our barefoot princess and you will find out all about that and why she performs barefoot. Lastly, when she was very young (younger than 9) after a performance an elderly woman walked up to her to congratulate her and she told Angelina that she made her cry. Angelina apologized but the woman told her it wasn't necessary and gave her a big hug. You guys will understand Angelina is much more than a wonderful singer. And, what do I mean? Well, an explanation is not really needed. You will 'feel' what I mean. Great reaction and I have subscribed and I know you will join all of us around the world on her musical journey. Note: If you don't go straight to NGT and you want to go to AGT/The Champions (when she was 13) before that, by all means do it. All I will tell you is, "Get ready!"

Hey guys, nice that you took a peek down Angelina's rabbit hole. she was 9 on this song, she arranged it herself from the 1956 original by Screaming Jay Hawkins. She won Norway's Got Talent at age 8 with songs by Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and the song Summertime from the movie Porky and Bess You are at the very beginning and I hope you continue on your journey because there is a lot to discover, she is the best singer in the world in my opinion) but you will find out for yourself and believe me , They become just as addicted to her voice as any other fans (Angels that's what she calls us) for her voice, she is also called the barefoot angel with 1000 voices, why she always performs barefoot is another story, she can adapt her voice to any song and improve and also convey a lot of emotions and she has not only written about 180 covers but also 5 originals by her as well as 2 written for her, all of which are amazing and even now legendary and there is a lot to tell, I look forward to further reactions and I've subscribed to you now, greetings from Germany, by the way she's 17 years old now.

Hello and Wellcome to the world of Angelina Jordan, vocalist, genius and humanist. At age 9 she already was a veteran. starting at age 1,5 (YES there is a video) she discovered jazz at about age 2 and decided to practice weekly for around 36 hours. She still practices. This musicians here were in awe of her, she was more than a little girl. Since she is 8 years old Angelina Jordan is a noble woman, NO JOKE. She was declared The National Treasure od Norway by King and Country. Her music instincs are so phantasmic, that seasoned musicians ask and follow her advise. She plays Piano and guitar and speaks fluently Norwegian/Swedish, English, persian Farsi and japanese. I sincerely wish you all the fun to discover this marvel of a girl. Elmar from Germany, Be safe.

I know that that my fellow Angels have overwhelmed you with Angelina details. I love watching reactors first time listening to this. Several thought they were being pranked, because no one could sound like this at 9. She is self taught and I am am glad that none of the “experts” were able to teach her abilities out of her. She is the only singer in her family. I believe that this video/performance will wind up in the music hall of fame. I have no question that if Screaming Jay Hawkins were alive he would praise her for this. It does not matter which direction you go. Once you dive into the rabbit hole to Angelina’s world every cover, original and those that were written specifically for her will amaze you. She covers many different genres and great artists new old. She is a master at singing based on what she’s feeling at the moment. I witnessed this first hand, last year when, I attended two of her concerts in Norway, on July 7th and 10th. Even though she sang several of the same songs at each. It truly was two completely different concerts because she changes how she sings them while maintaining her beautiful quality. If you ever have the chance to hear her live you will be blown away, as she is in her element when performing, out of love for her fans. I’m looking forward to following your journey. ❤

Angelina’s other performances don’t push her voice as hard, although they are all extremely well done. She always changes the songs she covers while also staying true to the emotions of the original. In this case, the original of this song was done by the dude on the coffee cup with the bone in his nose. His name was Screaming Jay. Hawkins, thus Angelina did a lot of screaming in this particular song. Angelina grew up listening to Jazz and the Blues. I think those musical styles got absorbed into her brain because she is just spot on when she sings in those styles. It is so unique for a little girl to love songs that sometimes go back 80 years. Her grandmother is a well known artist in Europe and I think she had a huge influence on Angelina. Angelina has covered so many songs already it’s just crazy. Her beginnings are when she won Norway’s got talent at 7 years old. There is another performance she did at 11 years old that I really liked. She performed “It’s A Man’s World” live in an outdoor venue with another band. The recording was done by someone in the audience, so it’s not as good as it could have been, but it still just knocks you out how Angelina just nails it. From there, there are so many other songs to choose from. Other “reactors” like yourselves usually pick the ones that are.the most popular in the comments and that’s a good way to choose what to react to. Also, you will want to know why Angelina always performs with bare feet. The reason will tell you a lot about Angelina.

Hey guys, thank you for reacting to AJ !! Everyone I've watched has been blown away by this performance (I've never seen anyone who wasn't). Welcome to the amazing Angelina Jordan rabbit hole. Her fans are called Angelina's "Angels" and are the most incredible, educated, dedicated, and kind fans I've ever seen. Read as many comments as you can - there will be many many long comments welcoming you and giving you so much detail about this amazing young musician and artist. There are over 170 covers and originals from her here on YT for your reacting pleasure. Reacting to her AGT performance of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody (13 yrs old) is often the "next" reaction to check out. Then, maybe her performances on Norway's Got Talent (7 and 8 yrs old). After that, maybe an original or two, and some more recent covers. Do whatever seems right to you though. Just strap in - you will be continually amazed by her. See you again soon, friends! Peace! ✨😃

Her artistic ability can be traced to her grandmother who was a child prodigy herself in visual arts and poetry, but no one else in the family is musically inclined that I have heard of. She began very early listening to jazz being played around the house by her grandmother, and she even tried to sing Whitney Houston at 1.5 years old. By the time she was 6 she was already in the studio singing, and by the time she was 7 her mother allowed her to audition for Norway’s Got Talent, which she won with 46% of the votes in the final out of 10 acts. What’s amazing is she now has been on the music scene for a decade and she is only 17. The reason she is a prodigy is because she arranges all her own music and instructs the musicians to accompany her. And you are right, by the time she was 12 she had a lower register that was deeper than most female singers. Watch her cover of “Born to Die”, she was 11. She wasn’t on the regular AGT, she was on AGT the Champions, she didn’t win, but I think it was because she was unwilling to sign with SYCO, but she signed with Republic Records a year later at 14, and now she is working with at least 2 Grammy winning producers on her new album. She already has an album that is still spending time in the top 10 on the iTunes top jazz album chart, “It’s Magic” performed with the Norwegian Military Band, yes she is a Norwegian National Treasure, even though she now lives in LA.

Thank you for featuring Angelina on your channel. I hope you will do many more reactions to her, as she is well worth every nanosecond you spend on her. I have watched and listened to her in awe since she released her first video on KZfaq, and what has been evident to me from the start is that she sings with total conviction, despite the fact that she is far too young to have experienced the events suggested in the lyrics of the song she has chosen to sing. But it is not only that, for strange as it may seem is the even more remarkable fact that she can convey the appropriate emotions within those lyrics to her listener. Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956 (50 years before Angelina was born). She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original. There are many things I found particularly worthy of note in this video. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. Another Angelina "Angel" has pointed out something else which I had missed, and it is added at (l) below, (a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled. (b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers. (c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it. (d) The smile on the face of the Bass player. (e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine" (f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand. Possibly to remind herself of the last minute changes she wanted. (g) Her unwavering passion throughout the performance. Evidenced by her facial expressions and the way she uses her hands and body to emphasise the direction of the song. (h) The way she takes a breath just before she starts the last phrase (I don't care.....) and that breath lasts the whole of that sustained note. A child of that age should not have the ability to hold a note for that length of time. (i) At the end, when she sings I Doooont Caaaaare, she employs TWO separate and distinct vibratos to the word care, a wide one to start the word and a tighter one to close the word (j) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody. (k) Perhaps the most remarkable is that despite her tender years, she sings with such total conviction that her authenticity is never in doubt. It is easy to believe that she has experienced the events described in the lyrics. It is not only her voice that is mesmerising, it is also her facial expressions, and the way she uses her hands and body. Her stage presence is electrifying. (l) The performance absolutely is powerful and raw but to me, I am amazed that this is balanced by the profound beauty of the ending phrase; the last twelve words of the song. AND… they are essentially sung a cappella! Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

Absolutely phenomenal performance from our barefoot princess, and Angelina actually arranges this performance herself paying tribute to the original artist Screaming J Hawkins a blues musician from the 1950 , Angelina is commanding the performance she is the boss, Angelina won Norway’s Got Talent at the age of 8 years old, and she has a thousand different styles and voices, Angelina takes a classic song and the arrangement she makes her own still pays tribute to the original artist, Angelina’s beautiful soulful jazzy pitch perfect voice touches your heart and soul she is hypnotic and a musical genius, great reaction thanks 🙏

She is not hyped. The reality is we have watched her grow and hone her craft by trying on genre and vocal tecnique like other little girls try on mothers shoes. You might be tempted to think she is the result of vocal coaching. But no ...when her parents realised her talent they brought a coach in who told them not to mess with God given Talent , a unique voice and natural talent. So she was taught how to look after her voice. Her music education has been on instruments flute violin, piano, and guitar. She comes from an artistic family not a musical family. Her grandmother was a child prodigy also. A famous poet and artist. She liked to paint listening to jazz. Angelina spent alot of time with her. The first clip we see of her with a mike was under the age of 2.

everyone always has the same reaction when hearing her sing this song for the first time - stunned silence. then you have to go back and watch it over and over just to be sure you really did hear what you thought you heard. when you watch her repeatedly you can really tell how great she is at mimicking other singers, not just their sound but every aspect of their voice: their pitch, their timbre, their breathwork. now think about adults who make their living mimicking other people, think of the time and the practice and the years of perfecting their craft. and Angelina has been doing it since birth basically. it really is amazing the amount of control she has over every aspect of her voice and at such a young age.

Welcome to Angelina's world! New subscriber - thanks to your great reaction to & appreciation of this masterful performance by Angelina (which she also arranged) - at age 9. And - as young as she is here, the band members affectionately referred to her as "The Boss". Now 17, Angelina Jordan from Norway has close to 200 covers & some original songs readily available on KZfaq. While you can't go wrong with any of them, some fan favorites: - her Norway's Got Talent audition singing Gloomy Sunday (age 7), - her AGT audition singing Bohemian Rhapsody (age 13), - her original song Million Miles (live studio version - age 14) - & her cover of the Elvis hit Suspicious Minds (age 16). Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

Angelina arrranged this rendition and the video shows her passing out the music and her notes. Angelina was born in Oslo, Norway on 1/10/06. At 9 Angelina's primary language was Norwegian; however, she also spoke fluent English, Farsi (her grandma is Persian) and some Japanese. Angelina's love of Jazz comes from her grandma, Mery Zamami, who surrounded her with Divas (Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Dina Washington, et al).

Gloomy Sunday: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qK9mjcuD0J6aeKc.html At 13 she gave the american audience on AGT champions the same experience, performing a total rearrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p6xgfbljndzLfKs.html A good representation of her voice today is her homage to Elvis "Suspicious Minds": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLqSfsucyMu2YGQ.html and obviously her next original "Love dont let me go" that should drop in some days.
