I wonder why the Queen, being smart enough to figure out that they were shooting bombs at her (as per her trying to put it out when it got into her circle), wouldn't just keep her guards' shield up. Maybe she can't communicate with her brood when completely covered?

So killing the queen made the minions stop being living things? It doesn't make sense. They are operating like bees, ants. Killing the queen shouldn't be able to stop the swarm but rather leaderless and aimless after the queen dies. Plot convenience of these movies is so dumb. They are not droids from Star Wars.

They’re not dead, they just stopped functioning. The queen transmits signals as orders to her minions, but since the queen is dead, the signals stopped transmitting.

I love Matt Damon's story about how his daughter was telling some of her friends about this movie, but she kept calling it The Wall, Matt says he corrected her and told her the name of the movie is "The GREAT Wall". She replied, Dad there wasn't anything GREAT about that movie.

The Tao Tie (The monsters) need they’re to queen to survive, just like ants and bees. If the queen dies, then the colony follows through as well. However in this case, they all stop functioning (not die) because they receive orders from the queen, and since the queen is dead there’s no more orders, which means they just stop functioning.
