So happy to see that you guys reacted to them! I love both of your reactions. The reason why you see the earliest albums dated 2003 was because that when Big Mama debuted with YG. The group is known for focusing on its members' singing abilities rather than their looks. However they disbanded in 2012 (after 10 years together) and are now reuniting and back with new music in 2021 with a song you just hear at the end “One Day More”. Basically they the pioneer of Big Bang and Blackpink and the R&B legends of Korea. They resided under YG entertainment for their first 3 albums however they left due to poor promotions/lack of opportunities, going on to sign with Manwaldang to release their last two albums.

그 와이지도 초반엔 힘들었음.. 빅뱅으로 완전 터지고 빅3로 진입한거였지.. 극초반에 킵식스로 망하고 지누션, 원타임으로 이목 좀 끌고.. 산하에 m-boat도 만들어서 휘성, 거미, 소울스타, 빅마마도 있긴했고.. 45rpm, 스토니 스컹크 앨범도 내주고 하긴함.. 초반엔 힙합, 알앤비만 다뤄서 그당시에 대중가요에서 주류 음악은 아니었어서..

I really enjoy your reaction, because it doesn't look contrived; and I can tell you are music lovers who appreciate great talent. I think you would love their performance of "His eye is on the sparrow" from 2006. It's probably the best rendition of that song I've heard.

Some subtitles led u misunderstand about the titles of the song and their moods. Each of English titles under a Korean title pops out when its song begins is the album title of it. So the song list of the performance would be 1. Break Away [Like the Bible] 2. Betrayal [Blossom] 3. Woman [It's Unique] 4. Resignation [Take it] (Solo Album of Lee young-hyun) 5. Refusal [Like the Bible] 6. Never mind [For the People] 7. Sound [It's Unique] 8. After Farewell [For the People] 9. One Day More [One Day More]

Vocal groups like these are usually buried because they don't really fit the 'beauty standards' of south Korea. One of the mvs, the first one saw from them, was made on that theme, where these beautiful, slender, young beautiful ladies were singing sounding beautiful and powerful, but we can see, at another room, who was really singing. It left such an impression of me that i still remembered years after.

Korean american here to answer your questions! First the mulan part, I can totally understand why it reminds you of a disney movie. Koreans like a genre of music called ballads. Ballads have a jazz/r&b feel sometimes but what's distinct about the genre is that it always has a story telling feel to it. They disbanded in 2012 but recently came back. They came on killing verse to promote their new song. They are all music professors and have said they wanted to show their students they are real singers hehe. All of their songs are about heartbreak/breaking up. They went through alot dealing with korean society and how biased we are with looks. I'm so happy to see them all together again showing who the real legends are! It was exciting to watch your cute reactions.

Big Mama was a famous chorus vocalist in the Korean music industry before her debut. Among her many songs and singers, there was also PSY. The group that was created through direct participation in production debuted on February 6, 2003 as Big Mama. They were active until 2012 and reunited in 2021 after 9 years of separate activities. Their current agency is Kakao Entertainment. I will introduce the members starting from the left. Yona Shin Born in 1973 Member of Big Mama and jazz vocalist Professor of K-pop Department and Dean of the Department of Arts, Department of Applied Music, Howon University Jiyoung Lee Born in 1979 She is also a professor in the Department of Applied Music at Sungshin Women's University. Younghyun Lee Born in 1981 She has achieved success as a group and solo singer, and is also a songwriter who has written hit songs for many singers. Minhye Park Born in 1982 She is the youngest member of Big Mama and currently serves as a professor in the Department of Applied Music at Sogang University and Hanyang University. Big Mama is a rare success story for a girl group. It is evaluated as a girl group that has succeeded solely as a vocalist in the Korean music industry, and many of the members are currently using their know-how and skills to help train juniors for the future of K-pop and as university professors. Please React to Kim Jong Kook Killing Voice on Dingo too, the video was just premiered yesterday and you will not regret it hearing his voice, he is a legendary 1st Generation KPOP Idol debuted in 1995 in a group named Turbo and Going solo at 2001, he is famous because his voice doesn't match his body but his voice is very sweet, so I highly recommended it for you to react please.
