Hey everyone!
I'm super excited for this video! I've worked on VALORANT for several years and I was finally able to record a process for one of our key illustrations. This illustration is for Killjoy, our newest character that just came out. I hope you enjoy the video and, as always, a big thanks to my incredible team, since these illustrations are a big team effort.

DUDE THE REASON I PLAY VALORANT WAS BECAUSE OF REYNA'S ILLUSTRATION. This inspires me so much that I went back to drawing ! Thank you lmao that was out of nowhere but yea thanks!

i wasnt decent at league but the art, music, designs and characters is what kept me going. i love league and the art so much. valorant is starting to become the same story, i suck at the game but i really love the art and the art team, i really want to get better so i can stay in touch. this video is great, thank you for sharing your process!

honestly one of the reasons i got /still get very pumped abt valorant is bc of the branding / graphic design / art style riot's using for it. It's so cool and seeing ur process behind the character's official splasharts was so nice !! i love it sm !

It always feels so refreshing to listen to the background story nor process of these kind of ilustrations, like, I could've never imagined that you almost lost the drawing because you didn't saved it, and it could've been diferent for the better or worse. Anyway, I enjoyed this video, and now I'm probably going to think about it everytime I see Killjoy.

awesome video, i have had art block for like 3 months and have barely drawn but i've got into valorant in the mean time and loveeee the character art. i'm going to draw the cool cat soon and want to be able to replicate the style a little bit so this video is pretty awesome to have as a reference. thank you!

Awesoome!! I remember seeing your Valorant illustrations on the website. I loved it so much I wanted to see if had a KZfaq channel with some speed paints or something. And you did! But you didn’t have any videos on your Valorant illustrations. I really wanted to see your process on them, because I also really love that graphic style. So I was so excited when I saw this video. Omg I would sit and cry so badly for this blue screen moment! I always save in 3 differents files my work because I have a really bad PC and now after what you share with us, I will continue to do that with a better pc too x) You did an incridible work! mostly with what happen to you at the end, thank you for the video

As a Killjoy main, I thank you. Edit: Ctrl + Save As whenever I have big adjustments; I end up having 13 files or more but it's perfectly safe (and then i upload backup on gdrive just to be sure. Learned it the hard way.)

Feels bad for the blue screen, man! I find it a bit difficult to paint in a graphical way like Valorant style, but at the same time I still have a lot to learn hAhahah Anyway, you did a wonderful job with the character!!

Redrawing the lineart to read the shape correctly is a very useful tips I've ever found for a while! Thanks so much! And also, yeah always make another copy of your psd and consistently ctrl + s guys not gonna lie, I had several accidents like suddenly my laptop die etc and it cost me so much. Anyway very fun and interesting video! I really love to see your speedpaint with explanations like this further sir! Really love your works! Gonna try out the game soon xD

This is a gorgeous piece, and I liked your comments on it! Whenever I see something as cool as this I think " I SHOULD TRY USING LESS LINES, LESS BLENDING, MORE BOLD SHAPES!" but it's kinda a slow process for my brain to let it sink in. Gotta keep on pushing... thanks for the motivation!

Another useful tip to prevent losing files is to keep your working file on a Dropbox synced folder. This way you have access to all the previous versions of it (a new one is created each time you save the file) and if the current version is corrupted you can easily rollback to your last save.

Hey, great art and style thank you for sharing! As an professional artist you should consider version and revision control for your local files that way you always have a backup if something happens and you can also revisit your earlier versions. I recomend Tortoise Svn since it's more easy to use and all you need is a server to stash your files on.
