This has some insane potential for physical modeling - imagine having the stretch controlled through key tracking with the poly mode turned on the effect lane
@VeganKebabDoRuky
@VeganKebabDoRuky 2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if that will be ever possible since stretch needs to go through a precomputation step before the effect can be heard. (But it would be amazing if some magical algorithm would allow it, unfortunately, I don't know anything about DSP, so I have no idea if it can actually be done)
@DataBroth
@DataBroth 2 жыл бұрын
convolution is much more suited for emulating the body of an acoustic instrument so you could use noise as the impulse(breath, bow, or pick) a keytracked resonator as the string or pipe or membrane (comb filter will do too) then convolution for the instruments body

@@VeganKebabDoRuky It's possible you just need to change increment size on the discrete convolution algorithm
@spaceranger145
@spaceranger145 2 жыл бұрын
@@DataBroth That's actually a pretty big misconception. Convolution can be used to model any linear time invariant system, or a nonlinear system at operating in a certain range - be it a room, a microphone or a bell / any other resonator. Convolution just imparts the frequency time characteristics of that system onto the incoming signal. You can try it yourself just put a tonal plucked / struck tone into a convolver as the IR then you can excite it with an impulse.

I’d love to see you mess around with minimal Audio - rift and see what kind of crazy basses you can make with it with just a couple saw waves! Using like band splitting and the different kinds of filters it has n distortions I think that’d be really sweet cuz I just got it but nobody has done any cool neuro stuff with it yet
@Alckemy
@Alckemy 2 жыл бұрын
Frequent actually did the demo tune for it but… I find that it’s not a tool for me. For the price point I don’t find any unique features it has that I don’t do already. The bipolar distortion claim also isn’t true as a quadrant waveshaper like trash already has that feature. For a beginner the morphing filters are cool but the biggest problem I have is that you can’t make your own! That being said I think it’s a great intermediate tool and it definitely sounds good:) What id suggest instead is to see how rift can apply to the other neuro videos you’ve already seen and adapt it to the formula, since, well, there’s nothing super unique about it. Thanks for checking in on the content!

@@KnzoVortex Account you don't care about, generally, anything but your main account that you can afford to lose. Now I don't use it for anything bigoted or stuff that would get me banned, it's just to avoid dislike bombs from arguments. Although, in my case the better term would be a "sock" account. A better example of a burner account would be a burner email. It's a type of service where you can quickly make a temporary email that you can actually check, get what you need and then you can dispose of it.

Dear Sir, I am a newbie in the Synth world and I want to understand the differences between Pigments and Phaseplant. In what ways one is superior the other. I am interested in sound design, like the ones in the movie Tenet.
@Alckemy
@Alckemy 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, I'll try to keep it brief although there are a lot of similarities Phaseplant: semi modular (you can place effects just about anywhere) 32 osc unlimited fx with snap ins available as standalone plugins multipass and snap heap integration. Kilohearts expands their effects often, although they aren't free it's basically an incredible ecosystem of subtractive, fm, sample, and wave table synthesis with insane potential for routing and processing. cost $10/subscription with a rent to own model $500 full bundle other bundles available Pigments granular, additive, subtractive, fm synthesis 2 main osc and a sub built in sequencer/arpeggiator up to 12 effects at once with a large list (I think, I don't own it) $10 rent to own via splice $199 purchase BOTH modulation system although they both behave way different lfo's msegs randomizers both sound great with tons of presets phase plant is a deeper synth, pigments has a lot of unique features verdict: demo both :)

so what's the difference between this one and the one in trash2?
@VeganKebabDoRuky
@VeganKebabDoRuky 2 жыл бұрын
You have more control on average (length, stretch, fade in and out, reverse, etc.) and it's a separate plugin. Plus it's a snapin so good for invested Khs users. As a standalone convolver, this one is a lot more versatile. The one in Trash 2 is a nice compliment for shaping the sound, and it sounds great too, but it's not really a standalone convolution reverb unlike Khs Convolver. As for the algorithm, I have no idea. Maybe there's a slight (or not so slight of a) difference, maybe not really. Dunno.

Trash does have an emphasis on mic positioning But can’t manipulate the sample where as with kilohearts there’s a lot you can do with the impulse beyond
