Learn more about Phase Plant - kilohearts.com/products/phase...
Phase Plant is a modern and powerful semi-modular soft-synth. Wavetables, analog oscillators, samples and tons more make most anything possible.
Whether you just installed your first DAW, you’re looking for inspiration to follow up that award-winning single you produced last year, or you’ve been tasked with creating the sound of a hot broadsword slashing through ice for an online game, it's what you need.
Phase Plant gives you more options and flexibility than you can shake a stick at, to make things as big or small as you need without compromising the workflow. All in one box.
This video is all about swooshy transition sfx for videos. Videos like this video. Meta. A noise generator combines with envelopes, filters, LFOs and some creative effects to swipe you right into the next scene... whatever that might be.
Come back next time for, well, who knows what... in 3 mins in Phase Plant.

Leave us a comment with your tweaks/suggestions/improvements. What would you add to make this even swooshier?

You could put a trance gate effect on it. Maybe a delay to make it ring out a bit more?

I added wavetable (between the sample and the filter), modulated the Frame by the envelope, and the Shift by another LFO. Added a bit more shimmer. THen connected Filter cutoff to 100% NOTE. Neat vid, thanks a lot.

Cheers Sven! Anything you'd add to this patch if you had, say, four minutes? I was thinking it could do with a second "background" swoosh, maybe with a totally different motion and filter type. /George

@@Kilohearts Good thinking! I would add separate short delays for L + R channels at, say, 90 and 115 ms. That would create a bit of room and, most importantly, stereo spread.

Thanks Oliver! Hopefully we can all learn together ;) There’s going to be a fair variety of stuff coming up on this channel, including some bigger and more complex videos, but these short & simple explorations are a part of my plans for sure. /George

Hey Viktor! Great to hear you found us. You’re in good semi-modular hands! Have you had a good browse through the presets yet? There’s way more good stuff in there than even I imagined when I first opened it up. /George

Hello, Viktor. There are many good modular software synthesizers. We are truly living in the golden age of synthesizers. I could easily name many excellent synthesizers that answers your question, but my advice would be to spend some serious time in Phase Plant. Especially since you just discovered it. You will never mine the riches of any synthesizer if you quickly bounce from one to another while collecting them. Inspiration comes from exploring, learning, and mastering the tools you have. I say all this as someone who does not own Phase Plant as of yet. It is a top candidate for my next synth after I feel that I have given my last purchased synth a fair share of exploration and attention. I hope that makes sense and does not sound like I am coming off as being a contrarian.

@@WildAnalog Hello, thanks for the bright & kind answer on theme. I guess its never ending procces of learning new tools from vast options and ideas, inspiration and experimentation. I found an endless possibilities using my midi keys and many Phase plant presets bank. If I suddenly chain it to some serious multieffect plugin, the interesting sequence comes alive as sonic landscape rising and falling throught the hemispheres. :)

@@Happyyz If you want to add some magic to Phase Plant, I would highly recommend UVI Shade and Valhalla Vintage Verb. That or demo the Soundtoys 5 bundle.

Sir, i have a question... Can i export the Phaseplant Factory wavetables into another Vst's? If yes, can you tell me where the file location of the factory wavetables please..
@Kilohearts
@Kilohearts 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, It's possible, from our wavetable editor, to export a wavetable as a .wav file. I can't really give an official answer as to what all other VSTs might be able to do in terms of importing, but it's certainly possible in theory. Hope that helps, /George

Wasn't able concentrate on the video, because was constantly thinking... why did you place your monitors so high?
@Kilohearts
@Kilohearts 3 жыл бұрын
Are the monitors high... or are the desk and chair really low? Sorry, that's not gonna help with your concentration is it.
@Kilohearts
@Kilohearts 3 жыл бұрын
Haha. I guess that is a bit confusing... huh? :D I’m happy to report those are not my monitors, and this is not any kind of mixing desk. This is just my desk at the office, and those speakers are connected to another computer completely. You can see things a bit better in our Multipass drum video from a few weeks ago. I hope that allows you to breathe out and enjoy the video ;) Cheers for being here dude! /George
