@Pickin Dim if there are multiple truths that contradict eachother, then they arent truths, they are opinions. An example is her very passionate prediction that Putin stops in the Ukraine. It strikes a very uncomfortable chord with me, and clearly Robbie abd Ryan, because it sounds like she is justifying Putins move and guaranteeing that this is nothing more than saber rattling. As Robbie points out, there is a lot of reason to be skeptical.

As a US Navy veteran from the cold war I support 100% what Kim is saying. This is a repetition of the Cuban misile crisis. At that time NATO wanted to deploy nukes in to Turkey and the USSR responded by deploying their own nukes in to Cuba. History repeating all over again.
@jeffswoyer9898
@jeffswoyer9898 2 жыл бұрын
USAF myself (end of Cold War), Khrushchev (the Premier at the time), moved the missiles into Cuba post Bay of Pigs, in order to "defend" Cuba. JFK "supposedly" had ordered the Jupiter missiles out of Turkey (the delay may have been NATO). JFK and Khrushchev finally agreed to move the missiles, but we only moved ours 6 month later, and would not admit that it was a quid pro quo. From the Cuban Missile crisis, I hope that there are cooler heads prevailing, and that they are using back channels

Kim is an idiot, as I pointed out in another comment, the reason why nato is expanding is not because the western powers wanted to expand many European countries were extremely against it, its eastern Europe that wants to join. Russia has militarely harassed every single one of its neighbours, and the reason why they don't want people in NATO is because they want to be able to continue their military action, occupation, land theft, destruction of other countries and absorption as vasal states, ala belarus, chechen, crimea etc etc. Russian neighbours like Finland have been repeatedly threatened. Russia should be restrained, they can't just invade whatever country they want claiming to annul their sovereignty. And that includes USA imperalism btw, the wars are making the world less stable and worse off.

Something comical is that each time one of the guys comes with a rebuttal Kim comes back with an even better and more factual one that makes complete sense. Comical in the sense that it’s sad this is not more common in mainstream media and she’s right to point out we are brainwashed to think in a certain way and I’ll add also compelled to fear thinking against that herd mentality. You're proud of your sycophancy? After admitting her abject incompetence - 0:05 "Many of us did not believe Russia was going to invade Ukraine" - Iversen goes on to offer her analysis nevertheless: the whole invasion is NATO's and the Americans' fault. In fact the opposite is obviously true: had NATO extended membership to Ukraine - which it refused to do! - it is highly unlikely that Russia would have invaded. Moreover, every serious analyst knows that Russia's annexation of Crimea and de facto occupation via proxies of Donbass had absolutely nothing to do with fear of NATO, except again in the negative sense that Putin was able to act with impunity precisely because there was no NATO protection. Zelensky also stated before the invasion he was willing to agree not to seek NATO membership. The whole NATO issue was merely a pretext of Putin. Like other Putin stooges on YT, Iversen completely ignores Putin's speech, where he candidly states Ukraine has no right to exist, was always part of Russia historically, that Ukrainians and Russians are one people, and that its present independence is a historical wrong. Serious analysts, as opposed to ignorant "influencers" telling their wokey audiences what they want to hear, have observed that aside from pure covetousness, what Putin really finds intolerable is Ukraine enjoying a flourishing democracy moving closer to the EU, right in the heart of the old Soviet/Russian empire. It is hard to maintain despotic rule when a young generation of Russians can see their cousins enjoying the benefits of a modern European democracy. But it's an interesting phenomenon that one can attract many followers in the west not by knowing anything but by being a lackey of a foreign despot crushing a sovereign nation.

Why do I say that? As an Indian--whose country borders a nuclear armed fundamentalist nation, which has not signed up to the "No First Use Policy", who incidentally also happens to be an ally of the USA and yet safely harbored their public enemy number-1 Osama Bin Laden for the whole part of a decade since 9/11--I would say to Robbie, shut up and just keep scowling, before you open you mouth and advocate "No nations should invade their neighbors if they share a border", let me see him say the same thing when Mexico turns agnostic and amasses nuclear weapons on the Southern border.

@@bellbells872 USSR wasn't destroyed economically by USA, contrary to the popular belief. To list all the factors contributing to that would be a long essay in this thread that probably no one will read. Even now its not USA that is destroying Russia's economy (that remains to be seen. Not everything is what it seems) but a combination of many countries, West leading the charge. If these other countries didn't follow US lead in these sanctions, nothing would have happened to Russia. As I said, that remain to be seen. Russia has probably planed this long ago. Perhaps together with China,Indian,Iran and other Asian countries, they'd probably ditch us dollar for good and have their own swift system. Certainly this economic war that the west declared on Russia will push this narrative faster in Asia and Africa for that matter. Just because Russia is the aggressor in here, it doesn't mean that other countries in these two continents see thing the way we see it. To them, a bully is fighting another bully on unfair level playing field. Russia invaded Ukraine and broke the international treaties. USA invaded Iraq and broke the international treaties. How come one is being punished economically and the other getting away with it, they'd think!! Don't think that USA plan is going to work this time around.

I appreciate having the other voices, I don't want only one side of a discussion, there is a time and place for that but we should also be seeking to understand. Ryan is naive to the point of handicap. "Don't invade" well duh but after 25 years of not invading and getting outplayed by NATO in a country that is on the border you have to eventually either a) play the hand you have been given or b) roll over to the country outpositioning you. What would the US do if Canada and Mexico suddenly allied with Russia? Roll over and just say "hey Russia, we trust you, its all good". No, they wouldn't and they would be right not to trust them. So they would have to respond in some way, and they should. I don't want anyone to die in Ukraine. Not Urainians and not Russians. I don't want Russia to invade Ukraine. So why not hold peace treaties so that they can sign a peace deal to make Ukraine independent and a buffer between NATO and Russia?

Of course, Kim is absolutely right. This incursion is fully justified. Would the USA tolerate Russian missiles in Tijuana? "The uniqueness of what is happening now in Ukraine in an interview with political scientist Sergey Karnaukhov was explained the day before by military-political expert Yakov Kedmi, noting that the effect of surprise is still working. What and how Russia did in Ukraine surprised and discouraged the whole world. Especially Kiev's Western partners. They used to shout: "Russia will enter Ukraine tomorrow." Okay, we're in, and now what? What has changed? They don't know what has changed. They don't understand what Russia will do next. This is the main uniqueness of the entire special operation. Unprecedented mobility, jewelry precision and increased attention to the safety of civilians - no one has seen this before." Anyone who urges Ukraine to keep fighting has blood on their hands. Biden wants to prolong this "war" as long as possible.

It is okay for NATO to overtake nations yet when someone else does it it is a no fly zone. Okay.
